You're actually in the detailing section, might try the section for your year truck to get a quicker response.

when you put your truck into O/D mode ( should be at the end of the column shifter ) do you get the same lugging you're describing?

Aftermarket exhaust?

If you have loud pipes the engine does sound strange when MDS is in operation.

When I have O/D off or in Tow mode it doesn't do it. I have stock exhaust. Sorry for posting in the detailing section my apologies.

Noob question alert.........

What’s MDS?

The only stupid question is the unasked one.

MDS... Multi-Displacement System... the engine will shut down 4 cylinders under light load conditions in order to maximize fuel economy.

Some people like it, some people don't. If you do a lot of highway cruising it will save you on gas, but if you are like me and all over country back roads it will annoy you.

Thankfully most tuners offer a way to disable the system so you always have all 8 cylinders on tap.
