2009 5.7 oil pump failure?

So just to be clear. Nothing was added to the oil? The engine could be sludged up. Mine was after 10k miles, still not sure how or why but I think it may have been because of some of the oil treatments I was using at the time. As for the plastic junk could have the seal from an oil bottle gotten in there some how?

Not to my knowledge, I think it’s pretty clear the plastic is what was causing the low oil pressure. Seal from on oil bottle is an interesting theory, definitely seems possible

To put this bearing back in, is there a used bearing torque spec somewhere or what should I torque it to?

Use the standard factory torque. Anything else could cause failure.

I would think using the stock spec would be a wiser choice. It came that way. To be honest Ive never heard of doing anything else. Maybe someone else will chime in.

A high moly content increases sludge. Additives with moly are not such a great thing for modern engines.
