2011 Alpine vs 2015 Current Audio Question

Is Ram still using the same setup on their Premium Audio for 2015+?

I was REALLY hoping the newer Rams would provide a true audio experience compared to the way my 2011's performance.
--Amp under dashboard?
--built in crossovers via the amp
--the HORRIBLE sounding plastic sub thing under the rear seat

For something labelled Alpine...I was not satisfied with the audio in my 2011.
I ripped the entire system out after trying to put a band-aid on a sucking chest wound. I do miss the integration of the OEM...but the sound quality was blah. FWIW...my friend has a new f150...the system is clear and clean, very nice setup...but I will keep my Ram until they address the poor headlights and poor audio(Both which I have replaced)

2015 seems to have better bass response but not much. I wouldn't spring for the Alpine system if you already know there is a possibility of ripping it out and starting fresh.

The plan is to get a fully loaded Larry-Me...

There is something about the base tone from the sub that drives me nuts. Every time I ride with my coworker(2010 Larry CC)...I have to adjust his base to where I cant hear it. I'm a freak I guess.
