So I am at a crossroads here. I want to give the front end of my truck a new look with some new headlights...here are my options

1) Depo Black Housing Quad headlights with some brighter bulbs

2) Retroshop custom headlights.

Of course I want the custom headlights but dropping $750 for lights is tough when that money can be put into power adders...i just wanted to see what you guys thought/recommended. I l ike the look of the black housing quads from depo but I would like a little better light output but dont want to move to hids. Never had a good experience with em.

I am also toying with the idea of ordering through oracle but have no experience with their headlights at all.

Vindictive lighting is also a very appealing option.

I had this dilemma last year. I had Retro Shops build my headlights and have been very happy with that decision.

I did, but for simplicity, I did the black OEM quads and did the H11 to H9 conversion, really helped.

I splurged...just put a deposit on some vindictive lights.

-Black housings
-RBG LED Halo
-HighBeam LED PODS

These things should be pretty sweet once finished. Then Ill probably do the H9 to H11 conversion but it seems to be hit or miss from what I am seeing.

I waited, and waited, and waited...and finally got a set of OEM projectors off craigslist for $400. A parts guy from a dealership was selling a pair that was warrantied for condensation. They are off a 2016. Now on my 2011.

$189 and you dont have to pay any expensive mod fees. Im happy with mine. I installed LED bulbs and wouldnt run any other ($30 bulbs).

I'm leaning towards the black housings and LED bulbs or H9 conversion myself. Retro Shop does great work, but I can't afford their prices.

I looked at retro shop last night for the first time. I was shocked when i saw their prices!

Why? According to every customer they've ever had, you simply won't find better work. You can go a cheaper route , order the same parts (or even go cheaper and order some ChiCom knock-offs), retrofit yourself and save a bunch. The labor is where the cost is. If I were to put my name on something, I'd expect/demand it to be done right, and I'd also charge accordingly.

2 things ive learned over the years of modifying cars/trucks

-Good stuff isnt cheap
-If I "settle" for something other than I truly want, I end up paying more because I ultimately end up buying what I originally wanted after all.

I went with vindictive lighting. I would say hes right up there with retroshop. Makes great stuff and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

I was looking at adding LEDs for the low beams but again everything seems so hit or miss...the only mod that seems to be the most reliable is the H9 modification.

Custom lights are worth it in the long run! Retro shop is making me another set ! (I’m addicted to custom lights lol) but these current ones I have are night and day difference (no pun intended ) in output as u can see in photo. That’s my low beam! Stock halogens or even led are horrible in these trucks.

Sweet setup. Very similar to what I just ordered. What are you running for you low beams?
