2011 Paint problems?

Nothing yet from the dealer.
Chrysler called and started talking about the lemon law, which in no way at this time applies. They are having another rep. call me on wen after reviewing my records.
I can live with a repaint, I am just concerned with a partial repaint, even the body shop says you will be able to tell the difference.
Guess I'll have a beer and a cigar and wait on the man.

because dealers suck. They will do a quick job and not mask off properly and i know it wont be blended well. I might just bring it to my body guy and have him do it. It will look perfect

Yeah that scares me, the body shop I originally recieved an estimate from wanted 5k to repaint 3/4s of the truck. The dealers shop is guessing anywhere from $1500 to $2500.

dealer salesman told me they had to switch paint suppliers for the 2011 because of a pigment shortage.....maybe that has something to d with it?

you guys are getting ripped by the body shops. 5k for a simple respray is nuts. $2500 sounds about right if they're doing the whole truck.

LOL things are really getting nuts.
I have a we owe order stating that the scratches on the truck would be fixed,
touch up was attempted, however didn't work.
So along with the factory splotches, I have scrathes that were going to get painted also.
Sent the dealership the estimate for their portion of repairs and was told only the touchup was authorized, not repaint.
THATS NOT WHAT THE WE OWE ORDER SAY'S.
Then was told if they pay they want their shop to do the work, not the factory authorized shop that is going to do the other work. So they want 2 seperate shops to paint different panels.OMG can you imagine the variations in shades.
MY only saving grace may be if dodge comes through with a complete re-paint.
Still waiting on the call.

I have noticed on my in certain lights that the metal pearl flake in the paint is heavier in some spots than others.
Also I have some dirt specs in a couple of areas too. Some people call them fisheyes.
I am not even gonna mess with it. Don't want them breaking the factory paint on it.
But I can tell you this.....They need a down draft booth in that plant for painting. ********* paint jobs ever.

It should be under a paint warranty for 5 years, Take it to the dealer and have it fixed
Good luck with dodge . have been trying to get the paint on my 2011 mineral gray dodge 3500 fixed for over 3 months. paint has rust under it and is falling off all over truck. have been to 2 dealers and chrysler customer care. the district manager for dodge approved painting the entire truck but then they said they would pay $1925 for paint job. lowest estimate was 5800. now i have hired an attorney. we will see if that works.

Spoke with dodge, 1 1/2 weeks ago, waiting for the distict manager to make a decision, apparently waiting for a total re-paint estimate from the dealer. This crap is just dragging.
Stealership agreed to touch up the scratches again, however upon doing so I would not recieve the new latch mounted backup camera that they agreed to install from me. I can have what's behind curtain 1 or curtain 2, but not both. Corksoakers!
I'm gonna BBB the crap out of them when and if this gets resolved.

Ps: My local dealership ( not the Asses ) has two 2012 black chargers with rally stripes on them that are covered in acid rain. Paint is destroyed, and are being shipped back to dodge for repaint. How do you even ship something like that to a dealer?

Well the results are in from chrysler.
They will warranty the panels with the splotched paint on them, however will not pop for a complete repaint. My main argument was that the truck would be de-valued. There is a good possibility that the paint won't match, and even so a trained eye could tell that part of the rig had been repainted. Guess I will find out the day it's traded.
And for my consellation prize I can have 8 free oil changes. MF ers
