I'm trying to put my 2011 Ram into neutral with a dead battery. I know there is supposed to be a manual lever above the emergency release about the parking break but my model has a towing break assist in that spot and I can't find any such lever. As you can see I pried it off to look.
This a column shifter
Can anyone assist? Thanks

That location is for the 8 speed electronic transmissions. Do you have a column or console shifter?

He mentioned column shifter
Thanks, I missed that. Correct me if I'm wrong but with the column shifter their isn't anything special to get to neutral besides just stepping on the brake and shifting right?

I think the key has to be in the "on" position as well.......

i don't know if this is the way it works on the 2011 model
but this works on the 2014 HD Rams with column shift

press E Brake
press brake pedal
move tilt column fully up

Under the column you will find 2 or 3 holes
the hole closest to the ignition switch has a pin in it, that pin must be pushed up a little

The guy in the video had a 6" screwdriver, maybe a Philips ?

Is there not a Dial/Slider under the radio console that does what you're asking (ie. 4x4 neutral for towing)?
