Hey there. I have a 2012 6.7 3500 Laramie Longhorn and I noticed something odd with the backup camera. It randomly goes to the black screen when in reverse. Still shows the message check surroundings etc so the UConnect works. Further diagnosing of the connectors I cleaned them and greased them. I noticed it may be temperature related? Early morning or after sunset it works, aka when temperature isn't as hot (I'm in Nevada). Would that just be a falty camera at that point? Module inside camera gets too hot and quits?

If so what is best aftermarket change for the camera, optimally already compatible with factory harness? I saw carpart has one for $100 but if there's a better outlet or better quality one out there I'm not aware of that would be great.

Thanks!

OEM camera and tailgate wire harness isn’t expensive. I purchased both for less than $200 for installation in the notched tailgate for my fifth wheel.
