Hey guys,

So at random times, pretty far apart, I will start my 13 Express and it will fire right up, idle will balance out, and then it will stall. I can't start it back up unless I open and close the drivers door. Radio stays on until then, almost like I shut it off manually.

I was in slight need of an air filter (wasn't horrible, but could be changed), thought that was doing it. But I swapped it out for a new K&N, and it did it again since. Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Possibly a fuel pressure regulator trying to decide when to die... If it's a 13 take it in and let the stealership figure it out with a fuel pressure tester. I'd bet its low

Yea i'm going to bring it in, I just dont want to deal with the back and forth, so I figured I would see if anyone had any ideas or similar experiences so I'd have something to go in with, rather than letting them tell me they couldn't replicate haha

I'll definitely mention the possible fuel issue. Thanks man!

Honestly you could have a bunch of things going on. Could have a RF hub/key/PCM/BCM issue etc. You have warranty so take it to the DEALERSHIP(not stealerership). Biggest issue you will face is it being very intermittent. If they're unable to duplicate and they're aren't any codes/tsb's etc. it'll be a crap shoot.

I was gonna suggest this as a possibility too. Having to open and close the door tells me it's not just a regular mechanical issue with the engine, but the computer is involved somehow. Key or something in the chain that lets the engine start when you have the right one sounds likely.

I'm going with key/CAN-bus/PCM lost communication. Rarely, but on my truck, stick the key in nothing, take it out, do over, fires up. I have had it die in drive a few times after my first tune, usually after warm up and drive, truck would shut-off, no dashboard lamps nor mils but I never had to open the door to get it to start again. The only fault I ever pulled on my Snap-on Ultra was TCM/PCM lost communications? If I remember it was a Ucode not P
