Hey everyone, I have a weird situation here...

I bought some switchbacks and they're strobing on my 2013 ram 1500 express... Here's a link to a video.

13' ram switchback problem - YouTube

So we decided to take it from the socket thinking it was a problem with the LED not making complete contact with the socket. This ensued...

Ram switchback issue - YouTube

We're lost here. We have put resistors (6ohm 50w) on them and even added a second one to see if maybe it needed a bigger one. They're wired to the Black (Grounds) and White/Tan (Turn Signal Pass Side) and White/Light Green (Turn Signal Driver Side)

Any help would be appreciated...

What do you get if you test them off the truck. or direct to the battery, does the Amber still strobe or does it light constant?

Where'd you pick them up from?

With wires directly into the truck is in the second video. We poked wires into the socket itself and held them to the led. Direct to the battery we haven't tried yet.

Diode Dynamics. Never had a problem with their stuff, I just have a feeling it's something with my truck.

Assure that the Switchbacks are functioning properly with a direct 12V+ connection.

I don't understand any reason why the truck would be sending such a weird 'signal' to the bulbs.

The load resistors are running from the 12V+ for the 'turn' to ground, yes?

Yes that's how the resistors are running. We tested them and we've gotten a full 12V connection between them.

I know you don't want to hear this, but if you can... maybe return them if possible.

If you want to run switchbacks, I'd suggest JJ at Retroshop.us.

I have mine from him and they work great. Also you have the customer support from him and that's priceless.

Thanks Len!

I do wonder if mine would have an issue in the '13s.

'13+s are becoming ****** little buttholes........they freakin' monitor the parking light resistance as well - which is what I think you are seeing here.

So, you said you had resistors on BOTH the turn and the parking light? right? If not, do that. I see you said you had 2 resistors on.......just making sure they were as I mention, and not in line (2 on the turns that is).

Don't ya just love the electronic ******** in these trucks? I sure do! (sarcasm is a *****!)

I swear these 13's are a ***** now electrically.

We did do that as well and it was solid white and then the turn signal blinked white, but the right rate though. It's very strange lol.

We tried basically every possible combination and nothing came out right.

Have you mapped the inputs to the socket?
I know Chevy's did something goofy with their tail lights (long ago), so a standard 3157 LED bulb wouldn't function, had to buy Chevy Specific units.

I like to know what I'm up against. What voltage you're getting where with what 'on'

Alright so I mapped out my socket and it's a standard socket.

Ground..........Parking

Ground..........Turn Signal

This is the exact same way it's mapped on the bulb.

I saw you tried new bulbs, did this include new resistors? Just throwin' out some ideas, connection problems between harness and bulb, weak connection at the other end, have you tried having both bulbs plugged in at the same time? I say that cause I saw an odd interior LED issue that acted differently depending on the bulb in the other spot. Not sure, but could the LED's pick up noise off the power somewhere?

We tried basically everything. New resistors, new bulbs, even new sockets and nothing. We had both wired correctly at one time, nothing happened
