Truck: 2014 Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4 crew 8' bed with Factory installed tailgate backup camera
Issue: Image displayed on uConnect screen was flipped L/R. Objects actually located on left or driver side appeared on the right hand side of screen. Backup help lines also nonexistent. This made backup for trailer connection very difficult. Picture quality did seem to be degraded also (not as sharp)
Prior to image flipping: Occasional blue screen
Prior Attempts to fix flipping included: Disconnecting battery for 2+ days, slamming tailgate, ensuring wiring harness integrity inside tailgate was ok and securely fastened.
Fix: Replaced camera. Picture has correct orientation and backup steering lines work as expected. Used Dorman 590079 camera <$100 with lifetime warranty.
Notes: Picture seems clearer/sharper than it ever has, but this could be that the old picture was degraded over time. Viewing angle seems different. Believe it points downward more, but this helps with trailer connection and the width might be slightly less. Overall I'm very happy with picture quality and utility.
