ok so I've been thinking instead of just subs a want door speakers and subs and a head unit. but i don't know what one to buy. i would like touch screen but its not a killer and looking to spend under 300. i have the rear view mirror back up camera if that matters at all

The previous generation Pioneer AVH head units could fit the bill for you lots of options and can be had for well under $300. Will you be running the speakers off the head unit or amplify them? Lets hear some more goals like sound quality, spl(loud), little bit of both.

hahaha... j/k

you will get some better sound, but dont expect crisp clear. you need an amp for that.

keep in mind that even though a deck will advertise its 50x4 watts that max power look at the rms rating on a radio its really only like 10-15 watts. A deck alone will never reach its max power under normal listening.

There's great deals on Pioneers on Amazon at that price range. I paid $240 for my avh3600. I was concerned about 2v out and noise but it seemed to go away after my sub was installed. If I would do it again I'd get something with a volume knob. Adjust the volume with buttons annoys me but I'm getting use to it. I wouldn't worry about the rear view camera, that will still work.
