Anyway, the look is what I wanted and the ride seems OK with a little clunky feel/sound from the rear. Nothing too annoying though. What is killing me is a loud squeaking coming from the front passenger side. Loud enough to cause people to turn and look as I roll by. I've spoken to Maxtrac, greased every possible point, re-torqued everything and still no relief. I'm very close to removing the Maxtrac front and chunking it.

Why not just install a set of Bilsteins and live happily ever after? I know a few people have had luck with the MaxTrac kit, but even with their smaller 1.5" spacer on top, your suspension is moving way outside it's design limit at full extension. Could very well be the source of your squeaking.

Not sure what would squeak with a coil spacer and strut spacer unless they didn't set the coil on the factory softeners correctly when installing it or perhaps a defective strut. Maybe I lucked out because mine are on the factory struts (even if I did feel like throwing those damned things through the wall) and there is no sound or feel from the rear of the truck.

As far as a squeak, when you tightened everything, how did you tighten the sway bar? Mine was tight on top and I didn't realize that the bolt that connects it to the lower control arm was separate. Tightened that and no more clunking for me. Sorry you are having such a pain with yours, I'd be pissed as well after that much aggravation and money spent on it.

I will say that Maxtrac's tech support has been great but I'm still getting the squeaking. On their recommendation, I just finished pulling both front assemblies and ground down the tops of original top bolts (which not hold the Maxtrac bracket). I really thought that would solve the problem but to no avail. It's definitely a metal on metal sound and I'm almost positive its coming from both front units. I'm really close to taking Tripower's recommendation and getting the Bilsteins.

You aren't alone in your leveling frustrations. I first leveled my new 2015 with a set of Rancho QLL shocks, and they rode great, but they only delivered 1.25" of lift on my truck! So after thinking about it for a while, I bit the bullet, ordered the Bilsteins, and spent another day removing the Ranchos and installing them. It sucked to do the entire process twice, but it's a distant memory now. The Bils are perfect, no complaints at all. A great ride and they deliver exactly what they say they will. Oh, and now I have a set of Rancho paper weights that cost $350. Great!

Hi Nomad, I just randomly came across this post when I saw that the OP was interested in a leveling kit. If you are still having squeaking issues please feel free to call in and speak to JJ in tech support. I told him that you were still experiencing the squeaking noises and he said he would be glad to try and get this figured out for you asap :) . Also, if you can send us in some pictures of the kit installed on both sides from all different angles that would really help us to understand what is going on. We sell a ton of these kits and this is the first time we have heard about this squeaking issue. I would like to see if we can get this figured out for you. Our phone number is 714-630-0363 and our email to send pictures is " [email protected] " Sorry for the troubles you are having and I hope we can get this resolved for you. Have a good one! -- Sean

I have only had the ranchos for a little while but I love them and they were easy to install. I got a tad over 2" lift in the front and I love the way it rides and looks. Worth the little extra money over Bils.
