I am rebuilding the rear LS differential in a 2014 Ram 1500. I used an OEM Dodge LS carrier/spider gear assembly, aftermarket Dana Ring and Pinion and an aftermarket master overhaul kit.
There was a mystery .067" shim under the inner pinion bearing (large bearing) race. The dealer does not show a shim there.
In order to get a decent tooth pattern on the ring gear, I have to put .110" worth of shims under the inner pinion bearing (on the pinion gear). THEN, due to the increased overall length, there is no crush on the crush washer. I am going out of my mind with this. Please help.
