I’ve heard going to 2.8” on the Bilstein front leveling shock it would be advisable to go with new upper control arms. My truck sits level at the 2.1” setting.

I recently lost .5” in the rear due to adding a 250lb Roof Top Tent (with rack and tonneau cover) in the back as a permanent install. I was thinking if I go to the 2.8” setting in the front and also add Icon Vehicle Dynamics 1.5” springs in the rear I should net level to be 1/2” to 3/4” positive rear rake with the new setup.

I go to a well established 4x4 shop and they advised not doing the 2.8” Bilstein setting in the front with even with new upper control arms. They say they seem in 4th Gen Rams if they lift more than 2” the front CV Shafts will be too extreme of an angle and will cause me to constantly go through them (replacing them)…

What say y’all?

Lots of us run at 2.7/2.8 every day, some higher. Do new UCAs, lift it, align it, wheel and enjoy.

With that much permanent weight I might look at different springs though, Clayton 2.5" lift or the like.

You can do 2.8 just make sure you run angle correcting UCA's like the ones from Zone. Let us know if we can help, we offer Zone, ICON, and may other brands! Message me for info and a quote

OP go with the icon UCAs. They are heavier duty than the zones for off-roading. I’m at 3” front lift with no issues for around 20 to 30,000 miles now. I had zone UCAs and swapped to jba. Nick gives great deals on his stuff. Also look into the eibach rear springs. Do you already have bilstein 5100 in the rear? Nick sells that stuff too. The eibach rear springs will handle the extra weight better and are 1” rear lift. I received 1.25” rear lift unloaded

It comes down to how you use your truck. On road you can get always with a lot more. Off road you get what you pay for. It’s beneficial to go through the process and set your truck up how you will be using it.

4th Gens, sitting truly level, tends to look like they have squat, due to body lines. They look, level, with about 1/2 inch of rake, up to 3/4.
If mostly pavement or roadwways, Icon UCS's, Bilsteins and Tuftruck Springs, that;s my experiences with 4th Gens. don;t know anything about cion springs os, up to you.

Woud not be afraid of 2.8 settings.
Many have ran that setting with 2013 OEM uca's.

What would you suggest doing to the rear for towing a trailer with lawn equipment and Bilsteins @ the 2.8 setting? I just got Zone UCAS and have the front BILS struts. Which one should i get for the rear? PART # if you know please.

Do you want to keep the rear ride height the same as it is now? If so just go with the 5100's. If you want to go higher in the rear we would need to get you set up with a taller coil spring as well. I would then look into the Eibach coils and then do either the Eibach shocks or the 5100's. Message me if you want a quote on anything or to discuss options
