I've used Toyo and Nitto tires exclusively for quite a few years on my trucks. The A/T tires wear a bit quicker than the H/T types but the A/T does give you great off-road traction and they are a great mix of on and off-road performance.

OP: U have to supply a lot more info: Truck, model, 2 or 4 wheel drive, location or at least general area, lifted/non-lifted, and your main driving style, ie., what do you use your truck for, do you tow- often, rarely, what you tow, weight. All this info basic for a tire recommendation. But tires like oil/filter recommendation, LOTS of opinions. All above IMHO.

Had Michelins on my old civic, got about the same mileage as my Toyo ATII's. The ATIII's I replaced the II's with seem to be wearing faster, and just not as good IMHO.

Stay way from Conti Pro-Contacts. Replaced the Michelins on the civic with the CPC's, and they ran like CRAP. My sister works for Conti, so I can get a great discount, but I will NEVER run Conti's again. They did seem to wear pretty well, so if all you care about is never replacing, might not be a bad idea, but they sucked for anything else. Sold the civic for the truck about 20k later, so didn't get to run the CPC's until they were dead, but my Michelins were damn near bald, and had better traction/performance/handling/ride than the brand new CPC's.

I'll throw my $.02 in. I just bought a set of General Grabber HTS'. Yes they are P-metric and yes I tow with them with no issues. They have a higher load rating than the SRA's they replaced. The load rating is high enough to handle my '29 travel trailer. They get very high ratings on Tire Rack as well.

But like TB said, we need more info to give you the best recommendation.

I just bought this exact set of Coopers (below) for my Ram 2 days ago. $123 ea. I have the exact same set (different size) on another SUV and they run out nice. I don't usually buy tires on price, and quite often I buy expensive tires, but these both fit my needs AND are on sale! :)

I bought them because:
1) Great Price,
2) I don't drive my pickup a whole lot post pandemic, and NEED a tire that'll last a good loonng time before they crack up. I've had 15-16 y/o old Coopers that didn't have dry-rot or weather checks, and 5-6 y/o Michelins which were cracking up.
3) OWL sidewall,
4) Good mix of road/dirt tread
5) USA company.

They're a 115T load range tire. Good for highway driving, but you'd want a higher load range if you tow/haul much.

You can't go wrong with any of the tire brands other guys have mentioned. I've run most of them over the yrs. Michelins are probably top notch, Japanese tire brands have been great tires in my experience, run out really 'true' ..and a little better value. I've actually had good luck with Firestone tires (Ka-Booom! ...lol, no really the Firestone's have run out great for me). Anything I buy MUST have OWL's ....lol (sorry, can't shake the 80's!!)

poll best tire

Cooper number one, Michilin close 2, wild peak wildly popular for budget option number 4. Nitto, Toyo and BFG all popular as well. I'm partial to BFG while labels out, but I must admit it likely is not the "best" for freeway. Michilins are head and shoulders smooth riding tires if you stay in their traditional tire, their rain tire is incredible as well grippy and a little noisy, but for what it does I doubt you can find a better rain tire which is why I put them on our rav 4.

For mileage I would go with type of tire over brand and pump up the air. Stay small like oem size and maybe avoid all terrain tires. Avoid rain tires as well.

I went with these.

There is no road noise and they handle great. Plus, I really like the Outer White Lettering on the tire. Have a really good tread wear rating too! Hope this helps?

Best regards,

-Mike

I finally quit buying the Goodyear SRAs (3 sets over the years) and went with Coopers a couple of weeks ago....what a difference. Those SRAs felt like concrete shoes compared to the Coopers.

I have a set of Kuhmo Road Venture in stock size 275/60R20 114T on my 2011. They are giving good tread mileage so far and do well in snow, ride smoothly and quietly enough for me. Bought them through my local garage at what I thought was a fair price. I only get in a little bit of trouble when I push my speed a little going into a particular curve here that might be a little off camber and it has rained recently so the roadway is covered with all that oil film which hasn't washed off yet! The front end starts to push a little but I lift a little and it tucks right back in. Thank you!

Paid less than $800 for four of these mounted and balanced:

OEM size for our 2018 RAM 1500 Crew Cab AWD Big Horn. Quiet on the Interstate, good on gravel and dirt and in light snow (southern CO mountain town).

Put about 6K on them early this summer towing a U Haul full of eldest daughter's worldly possessions, then a couple of local travel trailer (2,800 lbs) trips. Best MPG 23.4 after turning in U Haul and 65-70 mph with just wife and I and some luggage.

By the time these tires need replacing, wife will be on SS too and prolly spring for Michelin Defenders... or not!

Cooper makes great tires generally. I had a set on an old SUV and they were terrific. I have the Falken Wildpeaks on my 2020 Big Horn. Very pleased with them and I'll stick with them when it comes time to replace.
