Recently my truck had the engine light come on and went into limp mode. I pulled over and sit for about five mins and it cranked up and ran fine. done it twice in about a 30 day period. I took it to the dealer to get it serviced and told him about it and the checked the codes and said a low coolant code popped it. even though the coolant level was fine. He done his thing on it and said that the coolant reservoir tank cap had a small leak that caused a pressure loss. Long story short, he ordered a new one. Came in and i went to replace it yesterday and it doesnt look like the old one. the outside looks like it and the fit is the same but the original one has what looks like a thermostat built on the end of it that goes into the tank. the new one doesnt. i called the dealer this morning and they said it had been redesigned? I bought the truck new so i know thats the one that came on it from the factory. so either one of three things has happened. either the factory put the wrong one on when it was built, or the cap has been redesigned, or the dealer is full of it and ordered the wrong one. Anyone have any experience on this?? Its a 2015 model. any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
