After cam swap codes po172 and po175 . Vacuum tester shows a steady 16 at idle, slowly increase throttle vacuum increases then returns to 16. Quick jump on throttle vacuum drops to zero makes loud rattling noise. Back at idle vacuum steady again. I'm new to this not understanding if its valve related, timing off one tooth bad rod bearing ? Any help is appreciated

I may have screwed up cam swap. But It shouldn't have had to happen mopar junk. Never again will I buy one. My 7th grade shop teacher told me hemi motors were a s**t design I should've listened. Blown cam at 175000. I've had ford , Chevy, Toyota that have lasted over 250,000 without issue the dodge brothers would be ashamed

Well, is it a stock cam or is it an aftermarket cam?

You can be mad all you want but they ALL have problems. Hemi is great design but every engine has flaws and manufacturers aren't helping when they reduce viscosity of oil to help with emissions.

Might also help posting this in the correct section

The hemi engine was the first v8 ever built with 300hp in the 1950s.
The 426 hemi was banned from Nascar in 1969 because Ford,Chevy and Pontiac couldnt beat it on the oval track. But my stock Chevy 350 has 185hp.lol
Everything breaks.

If you hate it so much sell it go buy a ford but you will live in the dealership. Chevy has the same issue with lifters and cams any truck with AFM. Be glad you got 175k out of it before it happened one of the most reliable engines out there I have 220k and counting on mine.

We run Chevies at work, they have more cam issues then the Dodges do,and their exhaust manifolds also crack and break bolts. You're living in a dream thinking the other guys are any better
