I got a social media reminder yesterday that it was the three year anniversary of buying my RAM, which I've nicknamed 44 (XLIV). I looked through a folder of photographs and realized I have a pretty good assortment of photos that would work as a step-by-step appearance makeover.
1. Here it is on the day I bought it, on a family trip to Chery Berry. Bone stock.
2. Here it is the next day with the steps I negotiated as part of the deal from the dealer.
3. Several weeks later with an Access TonneauSport soft tonneau cover installed. About a year later, air from the dryer at the car wash snuck under the edge of the cover and the thing blew up like a balloon and destroyed itself. I replaced it with a Gator EFX hard tri-fold.
4. Here it is backed out of the service bay at the tire shop after I had the wheels and tires installed.
5. Took a road trip to shoot a pic on this old bridge.
6. I decided later I'm not a fan of the "in-channel" wind deflectors, so I got aftermarket Stampede wind deflectors and have been very happy with them.
7. Here it is after I debadged it. I left the RAM's head on the grill and gate but got rid of everything else.
8. I also used some VHT Niteshade on the tails, third-eye, and tailgate emblem to "mute" their appearance. Before and after shown below.
9. And that's where it stands today. I'd love to lift it a little, but that creates a garage problem, so some measures will have to be taken. Hope you enjoyed.
