Hi everyone.

Just had a quick question regarding some rust on my frame. It is a 2016 2500 with a 6.7. I’ve attached some pictures. Should I worry about this frame rust? It’s going to the shop next week for a full inspection by a professional. Hopefully I haven’t bit off more than I can chew with the rust on this thing.

Thanks everyone for the input. I appreciate it. I’ll keep you updated on the progress. I plan to own this for a while and the engine seems strong with only 70k miles.

Yeah I've had trucks with 10x worse frame rust that I drove for almost 10 years. That's barely rusted.

Thank you for the reassurance. I’ve been freaking out a little about it after I brought it home. I’m planning to keep it for that long with a baby on the way. I’m going to have it professionally grinded down and than hit it with an oil based film every year.

What rust? Lol. That's not bad at all, but I would try and use some rust converter on it followed up with a good coat of fluid film, krown or whatever you like.
This is what I do except I cheap out & spray several coats of WD-40 throughout the year on my frame & under carriage. Soaking it really heavy late fall. I have seen side by side test of Fluid Film vs. WD-40 & FF wins, but not by much. We buy WD by the gallon here at work & I apply it using a pressurized spray can called "Sure Shot". It fogs the sprayed area very well.
