Good day to all . New to the forum .

i just purchased a 1500 towable 5th wheel Dry is 8500 loaded 10 000 .
I have a 2017 Ram 1500 . Quad Cab outdoorsman with Timbrens limiters and I also have the outdoorsman coil spring and 2100LB rated adjustable balloons inside the springs for added protection .

I have a sidewinder hitch on the 5th .

LTtires

I was told I will be fine and seen several using this set up with larger units .
Just looking for the final answer

Thank you

Lou

The payload.police are going to have a field day with this one..."just sell your truck and buy a 2500 or 3500" is what they're gonna say.
You'll probably be over on the rear GAWR which is not advisable but let the CAT scale tell you that. GCVWR should be fine if you have the 3.92 gearing

People tow like that all the time, and you can too, the 5.7 is an excellent engine. I don’t like towing at the limits, there just isn’t any margin left. I tow those weights with a 1 ton, the stability and security is well worth it. Just my opinion, and you know what that’s worth

I don't go fast as a rule . But I see it done all over the place here and don't hear of issues .

I think you got the payload/weight police scared off. LOL A whole week and nothing. Must be a lot of gnashing of teeth going on in the background.
FWIW. With a pin weight of 1500 to 2000 lbs. I would be worried. Good Luck to the OP.
