UPDATE!!! My truck has been at the dealers for two days. Thank God they feel the Shuddering I described to them. They are waiting for some instrument that can read chassis vibration which they will have on Monday. I have other vehicles so it isn't an inconvenience for them to keep the truck over the weekend. I just hope they can cure it. Stay Tuned!
I just had my '18 3500 diagnosed yesterday and there was indeed an update for TCM, so far the shudder seems to be gone, check with your dealer to see if all is up to date.My '18 3500 has developed a "shudder" or temporary vibration. It happens when I need to accelerate quickly from a stop while towing my 7900lb excavator on a gooseneck trailer. It don't do it if I ease into it from stop. Makes me think transmission.
I just got a call yesterday to bring my truck into the dealer on Thursday to have the driveshaft replaced.
not sure I believe that is the issue, but we shall see.
Well, just got a call from my dealer that they made a mistake and they do not have the replacement drive shaft for my truck. It is still on back order and they do not have an ETA.
sure hope I can get this issue resolved before I leave on a 6000 mile trip towing the camper in January
Just heard from the dealer, they can not order a whole rear axle assembly. They are ordering parts to rebuild the bent housing??
Six days to get parts then a few more to assemble. After a month in the shop I should get it back in time for my yearly, 6500 mile trip to Phoenix and back......Fingers crossed!
