I routinely check engine oil and NOT trans level. Bought truck w/ 32K miles and changed all fluids including trans and diff shortly after purchase. 45k miles now. I don't think I've ever checked trans fluid cold. 1st time this morning and fluid was well above hot mark just under twist in dipstick. Do I have too much trans fluid in?

thoughts greatly appriciated
yes I'm about to go drive and check hot

The "Cold" level is OK for rough estimate, but you really should check the final level "Hot", when at normal operating temp, and with engine running.

Make sure you are checking in Park or Nuetral whichever is shown on the dipstick.
