I'm on my 4th set of MDS lifters. My truck has been off the road for more than 45 days this last time. I've missed trip after trip and total down time is probably close to 90 days. One of these days there is going to be a class action lawsuit against FCA over this.

Not sure of the codes yet, I will check when I get home. I did the "battery trick" CEL gone, and MDS is again working. Hopefully the codes stored. I made an appointment at the dealer to at least get it into the system that there was a problem.

Hi AL Handy,
We understand why this may be frustrating. Please let us know via private message if you need any additional assistance heading into your next appointment. We're happy to help!

Thank you, I do appreciate the response, thank you again, Lydia. I scheduled an appointment with Gray Jeep/Chrysler in Stroudsburg PA, I have come to trust them, and them me. Long story....:)

As an up-date, I pulled the battery cable while in Bristol at the Hot Rod Power Tour, reset the CEL, I had to drive home for a family matter, and everything was working properly. No CEL, No MDS problems, worked fine. Once home I checked for stored codes, there were none. I would suspect there would be, even though I reset the CEL with the old battery disconnect trick.

Just as an FYI this is wiIMG_3347.JPG th towing a 8000# travel trailer from NJ to Bristol Tenn

Really disappointed in my 2018 2500 6.4L, I purchased it on March 27th. I couldn't leave the dealership with it for two days while they fixed a recall. After 1000 miles, the thing quit taking gas, had it in two different dealerships in Orlando (on vacation). First dealership changed the fuel neck, but didn't even test it, so I had to take it to a second dealership, where they had to replace the gas tank. I get horrible mileage, pulling my travel trailer 7800#, like 5.5MPG in the hills to maybe if I'm lucky 8.0 MPG. Then comes the trip to Michigan, on the way there, I get the check engine light, FCA says it is good to drive as long as the light isn't blinking. On the way home from Michigan, the truck throws a low engine oil light and as soon as I get to the side of the road, it shut down. $1000 to tow, truck, trailer and family to dealership in Ann Arbor, where they tell me the engine needs replaced. I tell them to just replace the truck and the dealership, says FCA will make us repair it anyway. Another $1000 to tow the trailer back to Pittsburgh. They ended up replacing the engine, intake, starter and radiator. I've made 31 calls to FCA over the 31 days they have had the vehicle and each time, I am polite and courteous, I am promised a call back in the next 24 hours. I've received a total of 4 calls from FCA and the only thing they are willing to offer is covering a vehicle payment and upping the warranty to 5 years, 75000 miles. This is clearly classified as a lemon in the state of Pennsylvania, but it seems like FCA wants me to retain a lawyer before they will do anything. Has anyone dealt with this before?

My Yukon can tow 8100# and from a power standpoint, it handles the trailer better than the truck with a tow rating 15000#+ (4.10 rear) ever did. The dealership sent me pictures showing the wear inside the engine. They said it looks like it could have been bad or going bad for "thousands of miles". With that said, I've been advised not to take delivery of the truck. Just looking for some advice, do you think the engine could have been bad from the start and that's why I was getting poor performance in power and MPG or is this what I should expect from a 6.4L engine?

Sorry for the long winded post, just at my wits end with FCA. Thanks in advance for the responses.

Yes it was a bad motor from mile 2. I would fight it to the end as a lemon. It does qualify as a lemon. Do a search on here there’s several threads on the lemon law and faulty trucks
