I've had my 2018 2500 Laramie for a little over two months now. Last week for whatever reason I got in the truck and noticed that all of my radio presets were gone. I also noticed that the seat memory settings I had saved were gone as well. I have an appointment with the dealership after I get back from a trip next week but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this and what the fix may have been?

I just had the same issue, on my 1500 Laramie Longhorn with the big screen. All the presets for Sirus radio disappeared. When i place them in again they are fine until I turn off the truck. Called the local dealership and they said an software update should fix the problem. Don't know if that is the problem as the presets were fine for the last two months. Why now?

Would you mind keeping us updated on your dealer visit, Scott. We've been collecting VINs and want to pass on as much information as possible to our internal resources for review. I hope to hear back soon.

I have had the same issue with my 2018 Laramie Longhorn since I took delivery in April 2018 . I Would set my Sirus presets they might stay for a week sometimes less then disappear. I thought maybe it was a sirus issue . It is annoying for sure . Have not had dealer look at it yet .

We have owned our 2017 Laramie for about 1-1/2 years now (purchased brand new) and this issue has just now happened this weekend for the 3rd or 4th time. Each time we end up having to take to the dealership to fix. This is very frustrating for the truck not being very old. We go through, reset everything and nothing saves, etc. We lose all presets for seats, radio, etc. We have had all recalls done for the truck as well.

This happened on my 2018 Laramie too. It turned out that I enabled the
"Personal Settings Linked OnTo Key Fob" feature which remembers seat, mirror and radio station settings.

You can read about it in the 2018 manual in the section:

48. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLE

To set a memory profile to your key fob, refer to “Linking And Unlinking The Remote Keyless Entry Key Fob To Memory” in this section.

Good Luck.

That^ or maybe they skimped on the capacitors or the solder has broke loose in the deck. When they discharge or disconnect they will act like the battery was unplugged, resetting user settings. Vibration + contamination in the solder base = broken anchors.

Probably completely wrong, I tend to over think and take things too deep lol but working in industrial maintenance, I've re soldered plenty of PCBs so it is a possibility.

Mine also would not hold the xm radio presets. I didn’t know that when I set them I needed to set them to the driver 1 or driver 2 on the side of the drivers seat before turning off the truck in order for it to save.

I've had the same problem with FM radio presets disappearing. It's happened a few times on my 2015 RAM Laramie 1500 since it was new. The latest was last week. Quite frustrating. Anyone know if there is a fix?

My 2018 1500 Laramie has issues like this. When I start it using the remote start it loses all preset stations. That's an improvement from losing audio, not being able to change source or volume, and backup camera randomly. I've taken my truck to the dealer 5 different times and they finally put a new radio in. Still annoying that if I use the remote start feature I loose all of the presets and the seat and wheel heaters won't come on as they are set to do.

My 2018 Laramie RAM CTD is also having the same issue. In addition to the radio presets, drivers seat and mirror presets......my trailer brake settings are also "going away". This is quite the pain in my ***, not to mention dangerous. Imagine my surprise when I hooked up my trailer to see the display tell me I needed to setup my brake controller. Of course I ignored it knowing full well I had already done this. Next surprise was that my trailer brakes were almost non-existent so I had no choice but to go through the lengthy process of setting up and adjusting the brake controller........which has to be done in an empty parking lot with the trailer attached. No Bueno. Seems like a broader issue with the loss of volatile RAM, no pun intended, or the possible consequences of a recent "critical" over the air update.

That would suck for sure. I did the recent OTA update, and my 18 2500 CTD continues to not suffer from these issues. I use the remote start a fair amount. Sure seems like Ram should be able to diagnose something like this.
