2018 :). Just saying hello and thanks for all the info found on this site during the last 2 weeks after purchasing my Ram. Spent few weeks test driving GM, Ford & 2019's/2018's Rams and this is what I ended up with(Laramie loaded Granite). After 700 miles it has been pleasure to drive.

Installed Bilstiens @1.4, tinted windows & added 4" nerf bars. Not doing much else, this truck commutes 350 hwy miles per week for work. I will be looking for a better 275-60/20 tire, not impressed with stock Goodyears.

Some may ask why the 2018 over 2019? I was really not impressed with the 2019 new elongated & style. The xtra 4" on 2019 made it more difficult to park in garage and words of wife...."it looks like a limousine compared to 2018 model. Just our opinions, anyway thanks again for all the info provided here.

I might be biased :) , but that is a sharp looking truck. Curious, was there a big difference in price? I would assume you got a bigger discount on the 18?

Doesn't seem like there are many of us here who set their bilsteins to 1.4 . I like a bit of rake not to mention it helps with towing a trailer. Nice looking truck.

Yes, but money wasn’t an issue for me, the 2018 Laramie was around $44 with July 4th deals, and 2019 was around upper $40’s I think. I test drove both many times and honestly dealed on the one I liked best. The 2019 exterior is sorta boring & I didn’t care for the xtra 4” in body length & the back crew cab seating is screaming ‘soccer mom & kids’. :). The 4th gen just looks tougher/stout vs 5th...imo.

I have to admit I like em both. For me the small increase in payload & towing, plus blind spot monitor makes the 19+ attractive for hauling 2-3 horses, however the 4 extra inches mean it would not fit in my garage.

Enjoy your rig, I know I love mine!

Congrats on the new ride! I went with a 2017-like the 4th gen looks and didn’t want a bigger truck.

Congratulations on the new truck. I can definitely understand your reasoning behind the purchase of the 18 as opposed to the 19. With me being 6’2” and 280lbs, I needed as much interior space as possible. Hence why I purchased a 2019. As far as the extra 4”, it was a small price to pay for me to gain that interior space lol.17a7c41f5d778fdf291517be73928397.jpg

Great choice! The front of the '19 needs a total restyle starting with getting rid of the unibrow and the hood badges. I agree it is a very plain and generic looking truck that doesn't stand out anymore. From 50 feet away you wonder is it a GMC or Toyota.
I agree on the extra length. It was not needed as the Crew was plenty roomy. My garage is already tight with only a couple inches to spare. I have my doubt a '19 would fit.
If I had to suddenly buy a new truck, I would make the same choice as you The '18's and prior look beefy and the styling is classic. The '19's styling is anything but classic. The '19's I have seen on here with lifts and bigger tires just seem off to me. I hope the aftermarket comes up with a fix for the grill. Better yet, Ram needs to do a quick refresh of the front. If they didn't have the '18's to sell, I suspect the sales numbers would be horrible for the Ram.
