Just found out my 2019 Big Horn has compression problem 2nd cylinder. Just a little over 60k miles on truck and we’ll maintained, I’m pretty upset about this and wondering if any others have had same issue at low miles. Trying to decide if contacting Chrysler is what I should do or if there is not a chance they will address. It’s my 4th Ram and I’ve never had anything like this happen. Haven’t taken to dealer yet but code and diagnostics have been done. Any advise or ideas here?

Never hurts to ask. They might help especially if all of your maintenance was done at the dealer, but don't expect them to or get upset if they don't.
Are you thinking of getting a new truck or just repairing?

Ironically I just bought a 2022 RAM Longhorn. My wife was going to get a large SUV and when she drove one she said she liked the ride of the truck better. the plan was to keep the 2019 as well but I’m second guessing that now. To not even be 1k past warranty is pretty unbelievable for this kind of failure.

It's hard to say what the failure is though, could be carbon holding a valve open or something as simple as that. How low is the compression? Did you pull the valve cover?

If going to trade, I wouldn't say anything about it.

You can try going on a 20 mile trip or longer and keep the truck in a lower gear so that your rpms are in the 3000+ rpm range - if it is something simple with the valves that might fix it - if it is mechanical it definitely won't.

If you are going to keep it, hopefully your new Ram was bought locally, if so it might be worth a trip to that dealer and see if you can get some help - usually the help is with the parts side of things but every little bit helps still.

Thanks for the input. May try the low gear idea once I know the exact compression. Took it to reputable mechanic for compression check and haven’t picked it up yet.
