6EA0A9EB-01D0-43A0-9AC2-7D694A45927C.jpegHello all, I recently bought a 2019 Ram Bighorn, and didn’t notice the odd gap between the cab and bed until I got home. I’ve seen pics of other trucks with the same issue and it appears to be some factory-made oddity? It came from Canada. Anyone know if this is an easy fix? I still have a few months left on the factory warranty if I need to take it to a dealer (bought it from a Nissan dealership).

Just so you know, because that truck was originally sold in Canada, the original factory warranty will not cover any repairs done at U.S. dealerships. Canadian warranties don't transfer to the U.S., and vice-versa.

As far as what's causing that, it could be crash damage, but I'm wondering how much it would have cost to repair damage from an accident that could taco the frame like that. Unless your Ram dealership has a body shop, I'd have your local body shop take a look at it.

MADE me go outside and look at my MY 19 truck. (2) finger gap all around. Yup, that truck looks like it took a Hard Hit from the rear to push the frame/bed up like that, IMHO.. Definitely, if it was my ride, to be checked out by a reputable shop, but yer ride, wateva works for U.

Like I said, I’ve seen pics of other trucks in this forum with the exact same gap so I doubt they all suffered the same damage. I’m hoping someone else who has seen this can give some insight.

It's interesting you say you've seen pics of other trucks in this forum with the exact same issue. I've been a member of this forum for 5 years and can't remember seeing one that looks like that. Can you direct us to any of these pics?

I’ve never seen that before, going to go with everyone else and say that it looks like it was in an accident. Definitely take it to a good body shop or a dealership with one.

Yeah I agree with everyone here. I just scanned through like 20 pages of the what did you do with your 5th gen topic here looking at pics and didn't see a single other 1500 5th gen like that.

Something is up with yours for sure.

All Rams are built in either Michigan or Saltillo Mexico

They build a USA Version & a for Use in Canada Version

The only difference that i have heard about is the Canadian Ram does not have a Subscription Based Uconnect & they have DRLs when the ignition is On

The DRLs could work with the radios computer, as would the Uconnect

I live in Canada. They don't send us buggered frames as a standard option. If you saw other pictures on here that look like this, they were messed up too. This is not likely a warranty issue, it is far more likely it was in an accident or abused and not repaired propelrly. I would definitely be getting that looked at by a good body shop.

My 2014 Rams bed was shifted 1-1/2" to the passenger side. I didnt notice it either until months later after buying it.
This is my first time seeing one like this though...

EDIT: I had pics of the offset bed on here at one point. My posts start deleting themselves before 2019.

I’ve never seen that before, my guess is that truck has been wrecked.

I was going to say the same thing. I would get yourself a nice strong magnet and run it up and down the car just to make sure. See if there is an filler on that truck.
