Just looking for a way to document my mods and hopefully help someone else out along the way. Some things I'm sure will have already have been covered but this is my adventure.......

2019 1500 Classic SLT.

Current modifications:
S&B CAI intake
Moes 87mm TB
MBRP cat back exhaust
Diablo I3 tuner
IHC 4/6 Drop just installed this past weekend. didn't get a lot of pics but I can answer some questions if needed.

In the garage are the seats (front and back) and center console from a 2022 GT Ram. Hopefully be installing that soon and sorting out the wiring for the console shifter.

Anyways picture time...............

Rear seat is almost fully installed. You can get 6 out of the 8 bolts into factor mounting locations. You can also use the gen 5 back wall brackets with minor modification to maintain the reclining feature. You just have to source some Button Head bolts M12x1.75 grade 10.9

IMG_6553.JPG

Middle of cab factory mounting location. Front mounting points line up on all 4 brackets.

IMG_6540.JPG

IMG_6542.JPG

Drill out existing hole behind rivet and it all bolts up.

IMG_6549.JPG

Outside rear mounting locations are several inches off. My plan for that is to use the gen 5 mounting location. Drilling through the floor goes into a crossmember that has access ports. So I will snake a large fender washers on an appropriate bolt up into the hole and secure with a lock nut. More to come on that when it stops raining.

Seat back mounts locate in existing mounting location for child safety strap. They are approx 1/4 off center.

Enlarge mounting hole to an oval:

Shift accordingly and it lines up and functions.

IMG_6551.JPG

The top locator tab on the bracket rides on the top of the rear wall. I will probably throw another bolt in there for locating purposes eventually. Once its tightened up it doesn't move

Rear seats fully installed now.

Front 4 factory mounting locations line up.

IMG_6627.JPG

Rear middle two mounting locations can be accesses drilling through the bracket.

IMG_6624.JPG

Passenger side seatbelt locations use factory spots. driver side center seatbelt mount and outside rear mounting locations were accessed by drilling through the floor and into the open cross member below the cab. There are access ports in the crossmember allowing for a bolt and large fender washer to be fished through. There is room to get a wrench onto the bolt and lock nut installed from the cab side.

Rear carpet was ruined from cab vent/3rd breaklight/rear window seal leak so that will be replaced at a later date.

Nice job!

I swapped out the brackets from my 4th gen seats to my 5th gen seats. It took some doing - but I never checked to see if there was a secure place I could have drilled through and used a new nut & washer through a cross member. Nice work!

It worked out well for those couple of bolts and they gonna get some paint marks for easy visual reference of maintaining torque.

Although removal at a future date becomes harder but hopefully I won’t be doing that anytime soon.

I’ve studied your interior swap post a lot at this point as I’m prepping for the front seat swap. Since I have manual seats and making the conversion over to power. Not as worried about the heating aspect right now just want to get the power adjustments to work.

Starting to sort out the center console. My seats are manual and not prewired for power so that'll take some time. Need to sort out the GT console and shifter issue first.

GT console and Gen 4 Limited console (horrible ebay purchase) side by side for some comparison and mock up of potential modifications.

These are stacked base to base which is why the hvac duct are on opposite sides.

More or less the same width but the Gen 5 duct does extend further into the dash

IMG_6671.JPG

With the front bolt holes lines up, the rear mounting location is 3-4 inches longer on the Gen 5. I'm going to have to remove some carpet and drill/tap mounting holes for it.

IMG_6673.JPG

Took the sides off the Gen 4 to mock up angles and areas for potential cutting/bending. Heat gun will soften the plastic up enough to flex it into a new position but the inner supports in the Gen 5 may force me to cut.

IMG_6675.JPG

I'm hoping to cut the front of the Gen 4 sides off and be able to bolt the kicker panel cover grommets to the Gen 5 so that I can at least complete the sides cleanly

IMG_6678.JPG

IF the weather is decent next week, I hope to get the base fully installed. More to come............

Looks great!

It blends in with the 2013+ Gen 4 center bezel much better than the 2009-2012 bezel (otherwise, the GT console I have on the shelf in my garage might be in my truck at this point).

I was planning to build / weld a floor bracket extension / relocation so that I could use both the factory Gen 4 floor bolt locations, with the Gen 5 console bolt locations on the side. Never got there, but...that was the plan.

Now, I've got newer toys to play with, and am at the 'eh, good enough' point on the Gen 5 console swap. Maybe your thread will motivate me!

I want better seats but the headrests always get the thumbs down from the wife. I’m more interested in getting my shop to install the headers and duals that they’re sitting on,paid.Have to insist on a blower if money is gonna be blown,it’s a scream.

Thanks.

I will install some rivet nuts for the gen 5 rear bracket once i mark and drill and actually order some. Ha. Need to source a Gen 4 radio bezel that is for the center consoles to fill some of the gap on the sides.

Center console front mount. Found a couple minutes of free time this morning. Gen 5 console wasn't quite lining up with mounting holes. Originally thought the hole needed to be higher as it appears to be on the gen 5 bracket. turns out that was not the issue (so ignore the rivet nut)

The top section of the bracket needs to be cut to clear the internal structure of the console and the driverside tab needs to be bent up and out of the way or cut off.

With that done - the console bolts up cleanly to the gen 4 mount and sits nicely below the dash bezel

Console is bolted up (no wires yet other than front USB). Gen 4 console bezel relieved to fit. Test fit of the side panels.

Thanks. Needs a little more work on the bottom part of the bezel to make the lines look cleaner. Angle grinder with a 60 grit flap disk is basically an eraser for this plastic, works really well.

Wiring harness for the shifter is almost built. Need to source some connector pins to complete it.

Be interested in your wiring harness after completion. Would like to understand pinout
I have everything I need now. Just waiting for a warmer day. I've taken and extra step and wired up some extra connectors so that I can make a temp harness where I can switch it back easily if it freaks the computers out and dont have to mess with the console harness before making sure it works.

I know the sport mode shifting wont work but the basic functions should be easy. Its all of 6 wires. colors stay the same but the postions are swapped in the different style of connectors.

Hopefully get to it sooner than later but I also added the project of wiring up factory LED tail lights and i'm waiting on a couple connectors to come in to complete that swap
