Needed a lease. Not buying long term 1st year production. Especially RAM.

The Gen V rebel isn't really a "new" risky truck. Unless you have the e-torque, sunroof or that 12 inch screen, it's not really a high risk truck in my mind. That's the argument for buying a Gen IV. Definitely wouldn't buy the 2020 TR Rebel with the 7L banshee engine right out the gate though.

Personally, I prefer not to pay a big monthly payment to borrow the lessor's car, eat the built-in "free" maintenance costs and be told how many miles I can drive...and then get hit with a .25 cent/mile fee for excessive miles.

Agree, but I have e-torque and sunroof and air-ride and it's a 3rd car (just for towing our boats). So lease is fine for now. BTW, after having BMWs and MBs for the last 20 years - really impressed with RAM (my 1st american car ever).

How do taxes figure into a lease price? I'm looking to do the same exact lease. Big horn, equip 2, for 10 or 12k miles and 36 months.

I am in MA so tax is 6.25%. So would I pay the whole 6.25% based on their MSRP?

It depends on your state. In NY for example, you only have to pay sales tax on the amount the car will depreciate during the lease term. In other words, you only pay sales tax on a portion of the vehicle's value - the portion you will use during the lease. Also in NY, the full sales tax is collected on that portion at the beginning of the lease. In some states, the sales tax is just added to the lease payment on a monthly basis. So, even if you strike a "no money down" lease, you still have to pay the tax up-front (some banks will allow you to roll it into your payment, but many banks won't let you finance the tax). Research the laws and rules of MA.

I came here just to read/sob over the US prices VS CDN pricing.

However with the trucks only being out a few months the discounts are insane already. A new to land Limited with appearance pkg on it was $86-88k originally back in Oct-Nov .. Now they're down to $68-70k already. Unfortunately they want 4.99% on them lease or finance. I have to wait for 0% and add my corporate discount before I pull the trigger. I've got a 3yr old truck and I'll break even. I can't do that with 4.99% even with my preferred discount.

Last night we picked up a 2019 Lonestar Crew Cab 2wd. 5.7, blacked out, navi, alpine 10 spkr, 33 gal tank, LED lighting. I believe that's it.

Sticker was 49,4xx. We put nothing down and after TT&L and docs are financing 39,7xx. We felt great about the deal and love the truck.

I placed a factory order for a 2019 Limited with almost every option (sunroof, rambox, Level 1 group, 22” wheels, 3.92 rear, LSD, bed utility group, body color bumpers, etc.). Estimate ship date of 1/25/19. The dealer agreed to a price of $1500 below invoice BEFORE any incentives + tax/title/etc.

I just picked up my 2019 loaded Longhorn minus the e-torque and air suspension yesterday. Window sticker was just under $83000.00 Canadian. With factory discount, dealer incentives, my FCA retiree discount and traded in my 2017 Longhorn, I paid $25000.00 Canadian out the door everything in.IMG_1178.jpg IMG_1179.jpg IMG_1181.jpg View attachment 152561 IMG_1182.jpg

I don't usually find "out the door" price worthwhile because no one can tell what someone else traded in, how taxes and local fees factored in, etc.

My 2019 Bighorn 4WD Crew Cab, 11 miles, Maximum Steel, North package, deluxe cloth bucket, trailer tow package, level 2 equipment group, 5.7 w/o the torque thing. Sticker was 49875. I paid $377xx something, local fees and taxes pushed the total cost up to about 42k, I got $5k on my old truck trade. Since the dealer can't control local taxes and fees, I felt like $11k+ off the sticker without my trade or any cash on my part was a pretty good deal, especially compared to other trucks out there that weren't offering anything close.

It's a hell of a vehicle for the money. I've never owned a Dodge/Ram before so I hope it has good longevity, because I love the truck itself just in terms of how it looks, rides, options, etc.

Hi All.

I just purchased my truck Friday.

It's a 2019 Laramie 4*4. MSRP $58,200. I traded my Challenger and lost $2,000 on that and still walked out the door after all taxes, gap and fees for $50,250. I feel I got a good deal. What do you think?

Aajakt, I think you got a good deal, 32k OTD in Dallas. Could you share the options/addons on your trim?

Anybody else with lonestar/ big horn trims HEMI with pricing to share?

Also, even though this is the 4th Gen but sold as 2019 classic ram HEMI, does anybody know about pricing on them? I see advertisements in Houston dealerships for lone star trims starting at 26k (incl. all rebates and discounts) before TTL. Almost 16,*** off MSRP.

Is it worth spending the extra 6k for the all new 2019 model? Aren’t the differences mostly - longer wheelbase with more legroom in the cab, apple car play, push button stop start, new body style and interior, revised transmission software?

Instead if I could get a deal at 25k-26k OTD for the 2019 Ram classic lonestar would that be a good deal? I realize most of the decision would be a personal preference but I am really trying to get my money’s worth.

All suggestions/comments are highly appreciated.

Sounds like you pretty much have it figured out. Want better value and lower price, go 4th gen...want the have the newest and best, going to have to pay the freight as they say.
