I’ve been truck shopping for well over a year and have done test drives in all the big 3 and a Titan XD. Gas and diesel. Have driven both 2018 and 2019 Ram 2500 trucks extensively as I really like the overall package with Ram.
I just drove a 2019 with the 6.4/8 speed combo and was blown away. The old 6.4/66RFE was okay and I would own one had the dealer not been terrible. The 8 speed is significantly better. I would not even consider a truck with the 66RFE. The 8 speed handles city and highway driving empty so much better. That and the interior of the 2019 trucks is so much better. I think the Ram with the 6.4 is the nicest gas truck currently on the market. I have a suspicion that while Ford’s new 7.3 is going to be a beast, it’s going to drink fuel like one too.
I am currently strongly considering a CCLB 4x4 Bighorn 2500 in granite crystal with a tan & black interior, remote start, limited slip, etc. Really was impressed on the test drive and was given a quote of $43k without any BS.
