Hello @RamCares,

I have a 2019 Limited with black interior. I recently moved from the midwest to the southeast, and just in the first few months of the spring heat, my dash leather has quickly and catastrophically delaminated and shrunk. I have an aftermarket warranty (a good one, at that) but it does not cover interior trim defects. My truck has about 60,000 miles. I previously noticed what I thought was minor warping and chalked it up to vehicle age, until I saw what a month in the southeast has done to it. I then started reading on the Internet and discovered this is actually being reported by a lot of people, some with model years as recent as 2022. I use nothing on the dash except water-damp shop towels and Mother's leather conditioner. I also use a sunshade.

Like all the others who have posted here, my dealer estimates around $3,000 installed to fix this. I cannot find an upholstery shop who feels confident they can repair the leather. I understand that on occasion you have helped other 5th gen owners offset the cost of this replacement. I am humbly asking here for you to help me with the cost of getting this fixed. I purchased the highest trim truck you offered and I've been good to it. I can't afford this fix in the post-pandemic economy. Please help me out.

Thank you,
BF from Alabama.

jayquelin, I have the same issue. I see you didn't get a reply on the forum, did they perhaps respond some other way?

Contact @RamCares via a PM. They are on this forum and they may be able to help. Others have had success going through them and you can try another dealer in your area.

There are already several threads on this subject. I would encourage both of you to contact your dealerships along with @RamCares about this. You might want to send them a DM if they don’t respond to this thread.

Hello, I actually reeached out to @RamCares at the same time I made this post.10 weeks later, I have still not heard from an actual RAM Cares case manager. The representative here on the forums has been great, but I cannot actually get RAM Cares to reach out and contact me. They keep closing my case without contacting me and then sending me a survey link.

Dont feel bad my 2021 2500 limited is doing the same thing but worse. I called and even spoke to a supervisor and they said there is nothing they can do. so disappointed in Ram. and this is my 5th one. they lost a long time customer here.

Just seeing the "Similar Threads" header and what's below it: How discouraging to buy a top-trim truck and have so many cosmetic issues.

Upon closer inspection, the dealer may have replaced the dash with a non-leather one. The material feels more like a soft vinyl, unless I've forgotten the texture of my original dash. If memory serves, though, the original dash felt very leathery while this dash feels...not leathery. No skin off my nose if it won't bubble up and warp like the old leather though.

I also have the same problem and i called ram care multiple times and was denied any help getting the dash repaired on my 2019 3500 . I have bought 4 new trucks and never had any issue until now and to say the least I am very unhappy that Dodge will help some but not all. this is clearly an issue you would think they would stand behind their product

I have the same issue, I have a 2020 limited 1500 and my dash has been bubbling up for a while. Pm’ed ram cares and no response. Also still waiting for my fuel pump that was recalled more than a year ago. Every time I call, multiple dealers state they have no parts and no eta on when they will get them. Very dissatisfied with the customer service from Ram.

It took a couple of days from my initial private message, but I did hear back from the RAMCares account here. It took a long time to get the case worked out.

I am surprised at the number of people who have experienced this issue. Especially people who've experienced it on newer model years. I would understand if this was a one-time defective batch of dashboards, but it's starting to sound like it's just an expectation when you buy a Limited.

I'm not sure how long Ram has been covering the dashes in their top models with leather, but even car makers like Audi and Porsche still have issues with this happening. And they've been doing this for decates. I've seen a few threads in an Audi forum I frequent where people complain about this happening. One thing I have noticed though is that Audi seems to be much more concerned about making things right with the customer even after the warranty period expires.

Same problem, dash replaced at year two of ownership. Now in year five, same problem. Have had two cases closed out by Ram Care with no assistance.
This is an $80K vehicle and defective parts should be fixed.

EVEN though I have a lowly Bighorn, no fancy dash, with the monster heat here, I will always have a Dash Cover on the dashboard. Also helps to keep the reflections out of the windshield when driving.

I have a 2019 with the same issue. My main concern is resale value which will plummet with the dash looking like this. RamCare responded and said a dealership will replace it at my cost. So no support.
