Just wondering if anyone else thinks there brakes suck? Bought mine 2500 new, since day one i thought the brake were sub par, I took it to the dealer, and they blead them, but that didn't help, Just wondering what others were noticing !

All jokes aside, i never drive without the engine brake on to help me reduce brake wear and it has stopped and slowed very well in all situations, even towing the 13k fiver. Im at 16k mikes

Back when I had a six speed Cummins the exhaust brake was one of my favorite parts about that truck.

Compared to the 1500's and smaller vehicles they are not as "touchy" and require more effort to stop. I've gotten used to them but when they eventually need replacing I'll probably go the powerstop route.

I didn't like the brakes on the 2500 from day one... at 10K I had the pads all around changed to ceramic. World of difference!

Say if I have to stop fast, hit the brakes, truck doesn't stop that good feels like not all the brakes are working , pump the brakes once , and there's all kinds of brakes. My dealer said they've had a bunch of complaints, so they opened up a case, but I don't think it will go to far.

Mine felt a little weak at first, but quickly got better in the first 1k miles. I have a friend with a PW and he can barely stop it while in low range. Dealer changed M/C, but no difference. His dealer said the same about it being a common complaint.

Great, I still love the truck, but when stopping I feel like I'm in the 70s.

I was a bit surprised with the brakes the first time some a-hole cut in front of me and jammed his breaks , a relatively common occurrence here in the Peoples Republic of Retardistan (Ca). By the 3rd or 4th time the truck was coming around and stopping better, so I figured it must be something to do with the new pads on Ram's

Yeah, I don't think they're very good compared to the Ford. Sorry to say.

Bought our new RAM 2500 after our F-150 was just too light to pull our travel trailer. The brakes definitely took a lot getting used to. In the 150 the brakes were fantastic, but the 2500 was lacking, to say the least. I attribute it to the weight difference between the two. The 150 weighs <5K, but our Tradesman hits the scale at 7300 #. Powerstops are going to be the upgrade when the time comes..

I agree. I came from two 4th gen 1500's with fantastic brakes. My 2020 2500 brakes leave something to be desired, that's for sure. I've just learned to adjust my driving style a bit and leave more room in front of me.

My ‘21 3500 CC LB SRW 4x4 has horrible pedal feel, lots of pedal travel before anything happens, and is far from confidence inspiring.

I launched my boat last week on a very steep ramp that was slimy. I had the truck in 4x2 and the limited slip took care of it. When we were coming out of the water it was low tide and I had the truck and trailer even more down the ramp. Our “procedure” is I back up the empty trailer, get out and put the boat on the trailer, stay in the boat, and my wife pulls the rig out straight off the ramp. I put the truck in 4LOW as I didn’t want wheelspin. I told my wife to pull out slow as it was slippery. When we reached the top of the ramp the truck wasn’t stopping and she began yelling “the brakes aren’t strong enough!” I yelled to put it in neutral and then she was able to stop it and put it in park. She won’t drive the new truck now.
