My 2020 2500 Laramie has the normal power outlet inthe cab. For some reason it won't even power my compressor. Is does that seem weird or is it not made to power that much?
There is a pretty current thread on the power outlets. 400 watts isn’t much and a compressor’s initial start up is probably just too much. I haven't used
mine yet but other guys have been using it to charge laptops, tool batteries, phones, etc
@Jeremiah920here is the thread that Irish mentioned above. All our trucks that have the 110v outlet in the cab max out at 400w, probably says it on the outlet's flip-down cover.
I just tried something. On my 24” travel trailer it has a battery kill switch to keep them from draining. With that off I verified no lights or power in trailer. Plugged the trailer cord into truck bed with engine on and had lights as well as TV in the trailer. Probably couldn’t do much more though. And of course do I really want my engine running to watch tv? Ha!
what I really want to know is if it will work my slide out if the batteries are dead. in fact the cargo outlet WILL power the jacks and slide out. Cool.
