The book calls for 0W-40, most of us oil geeks would use 5W-40.

As mentioned the manual calls for 0w40 but some do run the 5w40. We offer Red Line oil here which has been nick named the "Hemi Honey"

the manual recommends Pennzoil ultra platinum. As fragile as these engines are I would use what they recommend while under warranty.

My 2020 manual calls for 0W40 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

It calls for 0w-40 that meets MS-12633 "such as PuP equivalent"
So any oil that is 0w-40 and meets MS-12633 is fine.

AMSoil
Valvoline
Red Line

As far as I know only 3 oils are MS-12633 certified. PuP, Schaeffers and Mopar. I know for a fact that Amsoil is not certified. And Redline does not have a 0W40 in their Professional Series certified oils. None of their Professional oils are 12633 certified.

Ravenol, Redline and Amsoil recommend their oils. I can't find any info on Valvoline.

So it seems Valvoline may have retracted their previous PI sheet which stated their 0W-40 met MS-12633
There was lots of talk on multiple forums about it meeting the cert.. hell, I read the sheet and it clearly stated it did... guess I should have saved it.

PUP 0w40 is SRT oil, and is very likely why PUP even still exists since everyone stopped carrying it. PP and their new "full synthetic" don't even have a 0w40. It is spec'd for both Chrysler specs, just look at oem specs window. FCA and Pennzoil are in bed together and by the looks of it they don't cheat on each other. If you want to stay in oem buy PUP 0w40, maybe even store some.

MS-12633 is now called MS-A0921 so either will suffice.
