The mode control does not work properly. I cycle through the different modes (floor only, Floor and Face, Face only, Face and Defrost etc...) doesnt change anything. I only get air coming out of the floor vent.

Am I missing something obvious or do I need to make a trip to the service department, I assume this would be something under warranty but I am new to this. I always had old vehicles without warranty.
I'd like to avoid a trip to the service dept but if it is indeed broke i will.

Trying to figure out which fuse it is. there is a fuse for Air Module is that it?

It sounds like a blend door actuator or mechanism failure. Shouldn't happen on a new truck and I would not bother to look for a fuse.

Repairs should be covered under warranty.

Hi there @Handy Smurf
We certainly can understand your concern with this function. If at any point you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support through that process.

That does suck on such a new truck. Is it the new style or old style 2020? Do you have a code reader you can use by chance? Much of the HVAC system will set a code these days.

I hear everyone in that this is under warranty, but I always like to know what I'm up against.

UPDATE:

So i took it to the dealer Sunday Evening after reading the manual and listening to advice on here that it was in fact a problem.

The dealer called me around lunch time Monday saying they needed to order an actuator (which my guess is the switch you physically turn). they said they can get it the next day and asked if i was willing to leave the truck there overnight so they can leave it apart and save time. I agreed (though I was wondering if they would offer me a loaner but they didnt I didnt press the issue because i had off that day.

The next day Tuesday they called and said the actuator did not fix it. They ordered the housing BUT the housing wont be in until december 12th in 2 1/2 weeks

So i have to pick up my truck then wait 2 1/2 weeks to take it back in.

See you in 2 1/2 weeks !!!

The actuators are electric motors that move the blend doors open/closed in the HVAC plenum.

Puzzling that their troubleshooting led to a bad actuator, but a new one didn't fix it.

You'd like to think dealer service is the best in terms of troubleshooting, but sometimes it's not. Hopefully they'll find what's going on without destroying your dash and interior.
