Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum but would like an opinion. I searched through all the chats looking for the best level options so I went with BILSTEIN 5100 front shocks, keeping the factory heavy duty spring, and ROUGH COUNTRY 3-inch control arms. the truck has 8200km on it so to save money i may as well wear out the OEM components before replacing the entire setup.

I don't want anything serious, only to level the front with the factory 1 inch lifted rear. I figure this will give me the least amount of wear issues on stock components as once you achieve 4 inches of lift you start to require spacers, sway bar extensions, etc.

so my question is, with the setup I chose, is there anything I should be looking for when it comes to bump stops? or over travel issues? I am running 275/65/20 BFG on the stock rims as well. I figure if I stay within the 3-inch mark I won't need spacers for the wheels? i watched a video when i guy was in full turn without the bump stop he was catching his control arm on the spring?

let me know what you guys have run into or if you foresee any issues with this setup?

You will be absolutely fine with just the bils swapped in! They have the needed bumpstop already. Set them at 2.8 and you'll be riding perfect.

Here's mine set at 2.8 with 315/70R17 (35") tires next to a stock one

I have had 0 issues with anything binding or catching in the 40,000 miles I've had my 5100's at 2.8

did you install new arms or any other parts besides the 5100s?
