Got our new order in . . . 2022 2500 6.4 engine 6' 4" bed . Am going to order new bed hitch for our 5th wheel . Pin weight will be approx 1300 lb . Any body have an idea how much sag to expect with this pin weight ? When I order the hitch I want to make sure it has the proper up / down adjustability range that works out for me . thanks in advance

Shouldn't have alot. Our pin weight is heavier than that and it squats the truck to basically level looking to my eye. I haven't measured it, but mine doesn't squat much.

Wow the pin weight is only 1300? Must be a small fifth wheel. I recently down graded, to a 33 foot fiver (10K pounds), and its pin weight is around 2100. I cant tell for sure how much sags initially but not much.

I have the about the same set up as you’ll have, ‘21 2500 6.4. 34’ 5W has pin weight of 1250. Even loaded up and having a pretty heavy slider hitch the truck only drops about 1 1/2 inches. Last time I weighed it there was about 2200 lbs sitting in the bed and the truck handled it well. Also was about 1200 lbs under the rear axle rating so you’re going to be good to go.

34 footer, pin weight 1250. Only downside is we don’t have a BR slide out, which cuts down on weight but would be nice to have.8D1560B3-7490-44FA-98D6-09B3790AB599.jpeg

Before I put airbags in my truck it would drop about 2" when loaded for travel, which included some gear in the bed. My camper has an empty pin weigh of 1545. My hitch is a couple hundred pounds and the front of my truck was raised 2", so not quite leveled.

ya . . . it's a Keystone Cougar X-lite 29' , 1 slide out , 1100 lb pin empty , about 7100 total weight dry . Switching from 72 Chev C10 with optional 3/4 ton rear springs to this new Dordge 2500 . thanks for comments thus far !

Is that 1250 number the manufacturer's spec or a weight from a scale for a loaded camper?

1250 was the manufacturer spec but it has to be pretty accurate. Fully loaded as full timers and with about 400 lbs in hitch and other stuff in the bed my rear axle weighed in at 5100 lbs. Base rear weight is about 2800 so there was 2300 sitting back there, about 1900 was hitch and RV cargo weight. That was with full LP tanks but no water. I’ve never needed to weigh the 5W separately because I’m far under all weight specs for my truck- axle, PL, GVW, and GCWR C9E9BDD0-1B83-426B-BB78-7D2D7C3640BF.jpeg

IRT my last, 400 hitch and other stuff was referring to to slider hitch, adapter and “stuff”. 1900 was loaded pin weight. Didn’t want to cause confusion :)

OK, thanks. The 1900 number was what I was really curious about i.e. how much does the real world differ from the manufacturer's spec. Interesting though that while this works fine with a Hemi powered truck, if my truck had a diesel, it would only have a payload of 2200 so the same camper would be overweight.

The forward pass thru storage area ends adding weight, as does the stuff above it in the BR. I was pleasantly surprised I had only added 600-700 lbs to the 1250 pin weight. The extra weight of the diesel takes a bite out of payload since the GVWR is 10k for the Cummins or Hemi. My PL is listed on the door as 3061.
