Hello,

I'm looking at buying a 2022 2500 6.4L Tradesman with the PowerWagon Package which has a 4.10 axle ratio. The dealer is telling me it can tow 16,910lbs. I can't find any towing charts with this combination. Is this true or is it really 10,620lbs?

Cheers!

The 4th gen 2500 power wagon package has softer ride springs which will reduce payload. Not sure by how much.

I don't think the Tradesman w/PowerWagon package has the softer suspension or the sway bar disconnects like the full fledged PowerWagon. What the Tradesman gets is more of an appearance package.

Get the VIN and look it up on ramtrucks.com
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This. The towing capacities are all over the map on these, depending on equipment, engine, etc. Towing capability will be reduced as cargo is added, and cargo capacities are a different number based on equipment, etc. Run the VIN.

Not sure that the Power Wagon package is the same as a full fledged PW but my ‘21 Tradesman 2500 6.4 and 4.10’s is rated to tow 17k. If you have the PW suspension you’ll run out of payload before getting close to towing 16k pounds.

It has all the PW stuff. Just not "cushy" inside. It is actually the perfect PW imo

As far as I’ve read it’s actually the exact same mechanically. Only difference is actual comfort items in the cab.
Ram upped their game on the Tradesman edition then. Someone pointe out the previous Gen4 edition was mostly an appearance package.

The 4th gen Tradesman PW were true power wagons, just like the 2019+ Tradesman PW. These are trucks that are ideal for, among other things, the power companies that upfit their base model work trucks with winches and better tires for checking the power lines. You get the PW package in the Tradesman trim level, so no skimping on capability between the Tradesman and upper trim level, but they also will generally have chrome bumpers and often no PW decals.
With the PW package comes the reduced payload and towing capacity due to off-road equipment, so the PW will generally be towing around 10k.

tradesman with PW package has the same exact suspension including articulinks up front and has the same crap pay load. This is the door decal from a Tradesman with PW package white is tradesman with PW, silver is my PW. Generally a Tradesman with pw package will have a little better payload and towing because they have less options but it will be minimal.

The Tradesman PW is the most awesome offroad vehicle made to date. We can argue semantics but I would personally take one over anything for purpose.

Tradesman PW here. Actually I look at a full Decal covered PW as an appearance package. As stated, same important chassis components that make it a PW.
Towing rating of 10-11k are common, but the PW trucks handle that and more easily.

Glad you like it!
Chrome bumpers and a lack of leather interior were a deal breaker for me...

Depends on what your idea of "off road" is. Those PW's aren't following me in my 2dr JKR without getting stuck.

Fair enough, Do you drive the JKR to location or trailer? Up in the Apps?

for me as crazy as it sounds it came down to the steering wheel...and my wife saying she liked the interior much better. I went back and forth on these two. both 2020 new in August of 2020 the Tradesman otd was $45000 and the PW $50000. I was thinking I could do a lot with the $5000 difference but I tend to trade vehicles often and the owner of the dealership said something to me that pushed me to the PW. he said when it comes time to trade the blue book does not treat the Tradesman the same way as the PW. I do think the grill on the Tradesman is 100X better than the freaking wet noodle looking grill on the pw.

I call it the Freddie Mercury mustache.
Mine's hidden behind the brush guard anyway...truck.jpg
And I agree with your wife about the interior.
I spend all my time INSIDE the truck and the level 2 PW interior is outstanding...

We drive it. Mostly in the Carolina's and VA/TN. Actually doing a full rebuild on it now. The 10 year old suspension is rather tired and creaky. Getting a full MetalCloak treatment.
