I also enjoy campgrounds for same reason, but they (campgrounds) have to be spaced out and have some character. My family does the state park in Bethany Beach Delaware every summer for two weeks. It is like camping in a parking lot. Every one crammed together, not a tree in sight, and just not enjoyable. We did a Yogi Bear in SW Virginia last year, was nice with mountains, a river, and a tin of nature. People having fun but pretty much respectful of each other. Until the weekend when the newbies show up, you can just tell, and they act stupid. Even had one of our chairs stolen by group next door. Whatcha gonna' do?Congrats, hope you have a great time. Check out YouTube, there are plenty of videos about campground etiquette and unwritten rules. The more you know the better time everyone will have.
I guess I'm the odd ball in this group. While I love the out of the way places I actually like campgrounds. I'm a people person and I like meeting new campers. Most of them are considerate but there is always that one person or that one group. You have to take the good with the bad.
