2022 classic cabin air filter

Hey all, while waiting for delivery of my new ram I am of course looking at the ins and outs of what to expect. I saw some 4th gens didn’t come with a cabin air filter. Question is if the 2022 ram 1500 classics come with a filter or if you have to the mod I am seeing floating around for some years. Thanks!

I believe they became standard on 2017.

Beginning in January 2016
They started installing the CAF in Ram 1500s

My 2016 Ram was assembled in December 2015, it did not come with a CAF

I could not contort my body to cut the HVAC Box for the CAF & the cover, so i had the dealership do it.

The advantage to the CAF, is that it blocks most of the dirt & dust from entering the fins of the HVAC Condenser.
That condenser is usually damp & the dirt & dust almost turns into caked mud . That blocks the effectiveness of the unit

My 2016 Ram was assembled in December 2015, it did not come with a CAF

I could not contort my body to cut the HVAC Box for the CAF & the cover, so i had the dealership do it.

that was my exact worry, I find it silly how some vehicle manufactures cut costs that much. Last thing I wanna do Is have a whole dash removed down the road to address those components because a $15 filter was not installed. I believe GM stopped installing them at some point in the 2000’s and began doing so again. My fathers Silverado 1500 which is a 2009 doesn’t have one if I am correct.

Evaporator. Condenser is out front in front of the rad.

I would think any 2022 Ram 1500 would have them, regardless of trim level.

I did not realize my 2018 Big Horn had one until the spring of 2021. Pics:
