Hello everyone,

Im placing an order in the coming days and wanted to get some feedback.

I’ll be drop shipping my truck to AEV to convert it to a prospector XL. I’ve been between a Laramie 2500 CD and a PW.

I live in CO, won’t be towing anything over 7k lbs and will be in the mountains often.

I don’t NEED a diesel but the only gas 2500 AEV will convert is the PW.

Any thoughts on AEV turning the PW into a PW Prospector XL? Front and rear lockers, disconnected sway bar and winch would obviously be a plus with that package… OR do you think ordering a 2500 Laramie Prospector XL is still the way to go?

Thanks in advance!

one problem with doing the PW is in order to get an AEV front bumper they will need to remove the pw winch set up and install another winch as they have not made a conversion yet for the pw set up. I think they also require swapping the pw coils as well.

if it were me i'd just order a level 3 power wagon and be done with it.my stock '21 level 2 gets the job done for me without any drama and i have no need to f*ck with suspension, especially after spending $100,000 canadian on it. all it really needs is proper 35's.

Good info! AEV did tell me they would put standard 2500 coils on it.

I’ve been debating this. Really want the lift, 40 inch tires, fenders/bumpers.

Yes i run 35’s on aev wheels and no rub even flexed out. Zero trimming. Probably could run smaller 37’s ie bfg ko2 37’s

My order is placed. I spoke with AEV and they use the factory winch. They do swap rear coils to add payload. Re gear to 5.13.

I don’t believe they are standard 2500 coils as it would be lowering it. They are special coils they have designed.
