Does anyone know where one can access a towing chart for 2022 1500 Rams? Read several places in the rating has increased.

I do not see it on RAMTRUCKS website yet and until then I would wait. As for more towing, they already tow 11K lbs so unless they upped the payload it is not going to matter.

I have read that the payload does go up on 2022 and towing as well. Also able to get the surround cameras with trailer option that 2500 and 3500 already have. So I'm looking to get it in black and white. Should be available since 2022 ordering is open.

I tried running a couple VIN numbers for 2022's listed for sale, but the build sheets come up empty.

Pretty sure the GVWR is the same and so is the GCWR as there have been no power increases.

You could already get the tow mirrors with surround view on the 21s.

Ballpark you should be able to comfortably tow about 7000lbs., maybe 8000lbs. But it does depend on what you are towing. A boxy travel trailer tows much different than a flatbed trailer. Unless there was a dramatic increase that will be about your limit. You 'could' tow more but probably not comfortably and maybe not legally. Payload will roughly be in the 1300-1700lb range. A 7000lb trailer will have roughly 1000lbs of tongue weight. Add you, your passengers, and cargo, any aftermarket add-ons such as tonneau cover, larger (heavier) tires and wheels, etc, you will be getting close to your GVWR of your truck. They may advertise 10,000lb towing capacity but in reality you would likely be over GVWR towing that much.
I have towed my 8800lbs boat with my 2013 1500 3.55s and it towed it decent but that was really pushing it. But boats have lower tongue weight due to engine placement so I was under payload but power wise I was about at my limits. My step-son has a 2020 Tundra with factory 4.30's and has a tow capacity of 9800lbs. He towed his 9300lb travel trailer with it and was over payload and slightly over GRAWR (rear axle max). He said it towed it decent but at low speeds trying to maneuver the trailer his trans temp light came on. He plans on upgrading to a 2500 next year

On half ton's you'll run out of payload long before you run out of tow capacity. And it's not all about how much weight you can get moving, but how much weight you can control.

A travel trailer needs 10 to 12% tongue. So 700 to maybe 800lbs.

Of the travel trailers I've owned, after loaded, tongue weight was always in the 12-15% range. Considering most storage areas and items are loaded forward of the axles. And people always seem to forget that they have 75-100 lbs worth of weight distribution hitch as well. Considerably more if running a ProPride or Hensley, or 40 if running an Andersen.

Yep. Always see at least 12% when I have scaled them. Betting its at least 850

I’m pulling the 5th wheel with my 2019 5.7 3.21 Ram. Hitch weight is 1343 lbs which counts are payload. The 5th wheel is 8500lbs. Tows without pushing the 5.7 or causing any real heat gain.

Can get a stripped down tradesman or bighorn quad cab with payload in the 1700's. So, a 1350 pin weight is doable, albeit pushing it, if you have 3-4 people in the truck.

I don’t like pushing the outer limits of tow capacity, there’s just no safety margins left

Ok guys I have interesting news.
I have a 2021 bighorn 1500. I hauled a Grand design 22ft pull along 12000 miles on a two month trip from Florida to NW USA. This truck was a beast with 8700+ lbs trailer up those mountains in Glacier Ntl park and Yellowstone! We loved it so much when we got back to Florida we traded the new Rv for 5th wheel and a 30 ft Grand Design 295RL. I had a Curt A16 (16,000lbs) 5th wheel hitch installed by RV dealer using rail system due to no “pucks”. I have a 6.4ft bed. When I hailed the trailer home it was riding low in the ***. I had Set of 5k lbs bags mounted in the rear axle $1k, and it trimmed up the *** very well! I also had a trailer break installed to assist with the stopping,( no brake adjuster in truck) and that addressed the issues. Here’s the numbers. Total combined max weight is 17k. Tongue weight was max 1875ish, trailer weight is 11750. This trailer is 400lbs under the tongue max and the trailer is 10950lbs but truck is cool up to 11,750.
So I went and had the total combined weight done at a truck stop and we’re at 15750 lbs total combined weight so 1200lbs under max load for this truck. My mileage sucks ( was getting 10.5 mpg on old trailer new is 7-9.5mpg ) but it’s hauling it very well even up steep grades. Been watching the water temp and so far no problems.
So, I’m pushing this 1500 pretty hard but it’s a stud so far! Very likely to step up to Ram 2500 diesel very soon…. Love to hear comments folks!

I pulled my 34’ 8400 dry/1250 hitch weight 5W with a 2019 1500 Bighorn with the 5.7 and 3.92 gears. Payload rating was 1900 and max tow was 11,800. I did put an airlift system in and the MOPAR integrated trailer brake. 30-40 lbs in the bags and I was level and the truck did extremely well. Ended up buying a ‘21 2500 Hemi to go across country and back this summer but had no regrets with the ‘19 1500!
