Does anybody have any intel on the 2022 2500/3500 update? I am on the verge of buying a 2500 gas. However I have a 2019 1500 now .. and love the rear cab room.

-Will it get the 1500 cab design change?

I have a 20 2500 CC and the room is huge, not sure what you mean?

I’m wondering about the cab length for the rear. The 1500 is huge in the rear cab. Came out with the ‘19 design. The Ram 2500 cab has not changed in a while.

I really want RAM to update the crew cab to the 1500 design. I need the full rear bench and flat floor. I have been searching on this very subject, it is sounding like the 2023 model year for that.

I was really hoping for the 2022 model year since that will be most likely when I’m in the market for a new truck. I’d really like to hold out for the true 5th Gen cab and maybe a larger displacement Hemi.

I wouldn’t bet on Ram changing the 2500/3500 before 2024. The HD trucks having a different smaller cab isn’t unprecedented. The Ford Super Duty cab was unchanged for 17 years and the F150 had a larger cab for most of that time frame.

Most of the 2018 and older HD’s were regular, quad or mega-cab variants. The 2019 and later HD’s are all regular, crew and mega-cab variants. I don’t foresee a cab redesign without a frame redesign that occurred last year.

2024 may be overly optimistic for a cab redesign.

Most who are replying saying how big the ram HD is have not been inside a superduty. I have a 2017 ram mega cab and comparing to f350 it feels like 1/2 ton:
2 inches shorter in most dimensions and 4" less front legroom, the floors in the RAM in front are not flat, much much less room for your feet. Guessing people under 6 feet tall think ram is big, but its not even close.
For this single reason I am likely ordering new Ford unless RAM changes the cab. I see lots of chatter about transmissions, interiors, prices, colors, towing, powerstroke vs cummins but the CAB size is a bigger deal than any of those items for me at 6'5".

Ram did away with the Quad cab after the 2009 model year, 2010 and newer was available with the CrewCab, MegaCab and regular cab variants.
Probably what's been delaying the release of a HD cab redesign is they're selling the Classic 1500, those share a lot of similar cab and interior parts.
With Ford redesigning the SuperDuty, Ram needs to keep up. I guessing the redesign will be sooner than later, the Texas truck show is usually when stuff like this gets announced

I had a 2011 with quad cab so it wasn’t 2009. Not sure of the year they did away with it but it wasn’t 09.

He means in the HeavyDuty.

You can still get a quad cab in a 1500.

2010 was the last year of a quad cab HeavyDuty RAM

The 2010 to 2018 HD RAM is the same cab the 2019+ have. Same regular cab. Same Crew Cab and Same Mega Cab. It is also the same regular and crew that the 1500 classic has.

2003 to 2009 HD trucks had a regular, quad and Mega.

1994 to 2002 HD trucks only had a regular cab in 94 and then the regular and club cab...which became a quad cab in 1998.

1981 to 93 had a regular and club cab. A few years in there you could get a Crew Cab.

Just for some info.

Biggest change I saw was going to be the Allison trans instead of the Aisn.

I wish they still made the HD in a quad cab. Don't need the CC room and add that to the 8' bed and I've got a looong truck.

Agreed. I dont personally want a quad cab, but it sure seems like there would be enough buyers to warrant having them available. Same with a short box regular cab in the half tons...not available!

Short box regular cab is still available with the classic.

Yes I know you meant the new DT 5th Gen...but the regular cab is built with the HD trucks. When the HD trucks get their redesign there will be a regular cab shortbed DT RAM 1500.
