Not sure if it was this forum, but a person recently posted that when he ordered a truck very recently, the system said it was going to be a '23 model.

I'm getting mixed info from several dealerships. 2 have said July, 1 said August, 1 said the 1500s are open for order will be in august so the 2500's will be in September probably. Yet NONE of them are able to order in July.

Government agency, Car Rentals alike Avis, Hertz along with other big Corp's they are the ones who are first in line to place orders, then big mega dealers then later on everyone else...

I don't think that is correct 06 Dodge

Customer Factory Orders before Covid have always come first

Chrysler headquarters is surprised that Customer Factory Orders have kept the dealerships busy.
I'm sure the dealerships would rather have the sales lots full

Fleet Sales are keeping the Assembly Plants busy, but Fleet sales are usually Tradesmen model pickups with Basic AM/FM radio
not many Laramies are used by the Governments & rental vehicle agencies

I may be incorrect because Not having those microchips changed a lot

======================================

I heard that FORD had so many incomplete vehicles that were slated to have luxury items & with 2023 vehicles going into production,
Ford decided to make a BIG Discounted deal with Rental Companies.
The Rental companies were going to buy as many 2021 & 2022 as they could & still have funds to buy as many of the 2023s as possible.
Taxi Fleets just want new cars, they don't really care if it is Next Years models.
Do you look at the year of the taxi when you need one, i just want a Clean Undamaged one

I have read that people who have a 2022 diesel truck on order have been told they will not get it this year, that there order has been pushed to 23 and at 2023 prices o_O
I have one on order, and have not been told that. Ram order system still shows it on order as a '22. If they did notify me of that, I'd likely cancel the order. If I'm being forced into a '23, I'd want to see what the changes are and what options may have changed before placing an order.

I'm sorry, some how when I proof read it I missed the fact I left out the word FORD

Other dealership is saying hopefully September. 3+ years this covid bs and still this. At this point i 100 percent believe the article I read that manufacturers are forever going to keep things this way to keep the inflated prices. Gone are the days of going to the lot and negotiating prices.
