Just wanted to see how my mpg compares to the other Hemi powered 2500 owners.

My Mega has a stock motor, aftermarket exhaust (I think, unless these trucks have a loud tone), and 285 R17 A/T Tires. With Regular fuel best highway mpg I seen so far was 13 mpg A few guys I work with said I should be seeing around 16 mpg......?

What year, miles on it, 6.4? Also, lots of stop n go city or highway miles? Hills or flat? Lots of variables..

I average real world 15+ with my 6.4. But it's flat, country miles mostly, and I don't stand on it much..

OK, once in a while I let it eat gas. LOL

If its a gas burner don't expect to get fantastic mileage. I have owned a bunch of Dodge aka Ram trucks and they are made to pull not get Toyota Prius mileage.

My MegaCab 2500 with the 5.7L in it got a mixed mileage MPG of around 14, freeway was around 16.5 - 17. I had a cold air intake, freer flowing exhaust and a Diablosport programmer on the truck. It was leveled and I ran 285/75R18 A/T tires.

Those of us using Tapatalk don’t see your signature Mike....

With that said, I see ~12mpg average w/ my ‘18 PW. Longest highway run was around 500 miles home from the dealer. I set off w/ 18 miles on the odometer and averaged 13mpg for the trip. Granted there were 3 mountain passes....

My 5.7 Hemi 2500 never saw much over 13mpg at best (usually lower) no matter how much I miked it. That's empty with no towing. I gave up on gas engines in a HD truck after that.

And I call BS or bad math to anyone saying they are getting better then that. If you go search sites like Fuelly or other mpg tracking sites that do actual hand calculated numbers you will see the gas 2500's all fall around the 12 mpg average.

Ran a 350 mile trip 2 weeks ago. Hand calculated 16.2 mpg. Mix of 2 and 4 lane.
My lie meter is on 17.0 right now.

My 08 cclb 4wd 5.7 2500 gets 13.15 to 13.19 hand calculated no matter what I do, it's got an airaid intake and throttle body spacer and a better than stock exhaust.

Thanks for all the great input!! So the “Norm” is 13 unless I was running primarily flat highway then it would possibly be a little better. That’s the info I was looking for.

So my exhaust...... do these rigs have a pretty aggressive tone from the factory? I’ve heard trucks that have a nice low rumble when new, but this sounds aftermarket to me. Also the tailpipe has an angle/ diagonal cut to it.

My 2004 Ram 2500 get about 13 mpg- as most folks are saying. Pure stock everything with a Hemi and empty bed - daily driver in city & highways.

Tried all the tricks to get better mileage but no luck. I don’t drive a Hemi for fuel economy anyway. [emoji1303]

its like they say, if we would just fold our tow mirrors down, we would probably get 20+mpg!
