Here's another thought....

My understanding is that from 18 on, there was an option on the rear differential. Some were heavier 6500 lb axles like mine....but other 2500s got the lighter 6000 lb rear axle.

Could be that trucks with the heavier axle get the damper? Probably is due to some other reason, but it's a thought anyway.
first i have heard of this.

My '21 PW has it and the rear hops all over the place when I get ******* the throttle and the tires are breaking loose. If its goal was to control wheel hop, it fails.

I don't disagree with you in theory, however I would think that they must have benefit and be necessary in certain applications or RAM wouldn't incur the time and expense to install them on the trucks.

Thats my thought on it. With how cheap they are on the drag link weld recall they would definitely not put them on if it didn't do something. Or they think it's doing something. My 16 2500 6.4 ccsb tradesman with the off-road package has it.

Yes Sir. I hadn't either until a member here made me aware of it and we started checking the vin tags which show front and rear grawrs. I believe it was in 2018 this occurred but I am not certain. Some 2500s have the 6000lb rear axle, some 6500.

I believe 3500 srw now have a 7000 rear axle. Just some minor differences. As I understood things, for a period of time the only differences between 2500 and 3500 srw was that 3500 had leaf springs, 2500 had coil springs in the rear, but that now no longer appears to be the case. Still very similar though overall.

My 21 Tradesman CC 6'4" bed 4x4 6.4L has it (non off-road pkg)

Could it be on the Anti spin differential upgrade or the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep?

Maybe it's one of those items that you dont need until you do?

Who knows. Glad you got it installed though.

simple explanation, not detailed

Too bad the original ALLPAR site no longer exists
They always had detailed explanations for new equipment & they had some insider information from the Mopar Underground

It looks like it may be back up, just not as easy to navigate

Could it have anything to to do with the type of drive shaft you have, mines aluminum and have the dampener

I installed it on my 2017 2500 Cummins. Seemed to keep the rear end planted better on really bumpy roads.
