Heading to Freeman Park, NC this weekend and hoping like hell I don't have to park at the pier, walk almost a mile to our camp site, and leave my new truck sitting there overnight.

Has anyone been successful driving a 2WD 1500 on the beach? (obviously I don't plan on doing anything but driving and parking at my camp site.

2wd and sand is a bad combo. Unless it is very hard packed sand I wouldn't even try taking a 2wd on the beach.

Does the beach even allow 2wd vehicles?

First step would be to air down the tires... maybe bring some plywood/2x4s with you incase you get into the soft stuff.

You'll be fine. Until you're not fine.

I would say be smart and don't do it. This year on Long Island many people are pressing their luck on the beach and getting stuck or even losing their trucks to the ocean.[IMG]
