Are the 3.5" Dash speakers worth changing? With stock speakers I don't really hear them.

I replaced mine with a set of infinity reference 3.5's and it made a huge difference.

I am planning on upgrading them very soon. I think you hear them far more than you think.
Pop off the grills and unplug them, you'll see how low and flat your sound stage is w/o em.

I agree - those are the speakers I used too, and it made it so much clearer the difference is amazing. Well worth it, and an easy changeover if you use the crutchfield speaker harness adapters. go for it!

Yes! If you only change one pair of speakers, it should be the dash speakers.

Unplug the center one (if you have it) - that'll help a lot too.

I changed mine, and now that's all I hear. I'm eventually going to eliminate the corner dash speakers, and go with full components in the front doors.

Bringing this back from the dead. Just bought Kicker KS35's. got them 10 bucks off at Crutchfield as I sprung for the "scratch and dent" option lol. 40 bucks shipped.. cant beat that. Anyone have any experience with these? The reviews section only had positive things to say about them but figured I would ask here as im PUMPED! I also have not looked in to how to install these. Some info on that would be cool too!

I have a 2014 Express and just replaced the dash speakers with the Kicker KS35's and it made a huge difference to me. I am extremely pleased with the sound difference from the stock speakers. Very easy plug-in-play upgrade.

I just watched a video on how to install them. Looks super easy, however I'm wondering about hooking up the harness that Crutchfield supplies. Is it obvious which is ground and positive? as they are just press connectors on the speaker, I don't want to get them backwards and break anything.

Are you guys running only two speakers in the dash and leaving the stock 3rd speaker in the middle?

Crutchfield supplied plugs should have already matched the polarity of the radio in the truck. Their stuff is usually plug and play.

To figure it out on the OEM speaker this is how www.TechGuys.ca | How to: Determine speaker polairity Then you know which is positive and negative

Right but I'm talking about the part where I have to plug that harness into the speaker, I can reverse the polarity if i connect those wrong. Thats my concern.

I dont have a center channel speaker, I think only the Alpine system has it... from what I have read tho people that do have it have disconnected it after replacing the 3.5's as the center is useless after the swap (useless as in it sounds like crap)..

follow the link and do that on the OEM speaker so you know which is positive and then its figured out. then you know which wire on the OEM plug is positive and the replacement speaker should be marked already. So its all just matching it up

I think only the Infinity system has the center speaker. I know I don't have one.

Alpine system has a total of 10 speakers. 1 in each door, 3 in the dash and 2 in the roof near each rear door and the sub under the passengers rear seat

As these things are only sold in pairs, I'm thinking of buying two sets, installing the 3 dash speakers, and having one extra to throw away or whatever.
Do you guys think 3 upgraded dash speakers would sound louder/better than only two with the center dash disconnected?

Don't worry about it. The harness connections for the Kicker KS35 speakers are different sizes. You can't mix them up. Very easy install.
