My wife has a 2019 Ram Classic 3.6L. It has 58,*** miles on it. Her Check Engine light started flashing. Code read as P0306, #6 spark plug failure. Shop said the coil was bad, actually 3 of them. $750ish to fix. Seems a bit premature for this kind of failure to me. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Shop said it's common. They also said the oil cooler is getting ready to leak, and that is also a common problem.

Hmmm, oil cooler is “getting ready to leak”? Really. Can they pinpoint that time for you? I would pull the plug or swap the coil pack to another cylinder and see if it moves the problem. Me thinks the shop may have an outstanding electric bill they/you need to pay.......they need you to pay. LOL!

If they've been doing your oil changes the "oil cooler getting ready to leak" is likely an admission of guilt and not a premonition...

If you are out of warranty and the work hasn't been done yet there are aftermarket Ripp coil packs that are supposed to be better than stock and may be cheaper too.

The defective ignition coils should be covered under your 5-year / 60,000 mile power train warranty - and the vehicle’s emission’s warranty.

I crawled under the truck. There is no sign of a leak. I was just wondering if the coil pack going out was a common problem. She had a 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty.

The 2019 should have a 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 5 year/60,000 mile power train warranty. The repairs should be covered.
