Im about a month away from pulling the trigger on the PA 3" BL but im a little nervous about lifting the frame like that. Has anyone had any issues with body lifts both installing them or something breaking during or after install. My truck is mostly show and some go so I won't be out in the mud or snow a lot but it will happen a few times. Any advise or things to watch out for would be nice. Thanks

I ran a 3inch body lift on my 07 ranger for 65'000km. no issues, and i have one for the RAM at home, just havent had time to install where i work shift work in alberta. hoping this next trip home in a week i can get it done!

My ranger was used and abused (im a surveyor by trade and mud and construction sites are my home)!

I have been looking all through this forum and Google and have seen nothing about any issues so that leads me to think no one has had any but I know there are issues nothing is a perfect product.

@White so you never had any issues with frame sliding or your truck sitting uneven?

Nope. Just rear bumper needed adjusted once. Body and box stayed down. It's all in the quality of the kit you buy. Performance accessories (PA) is the best.

nope, no issues. i offroaded with my 3" and never had a problem. easy as hell to install too. no reason you and a buddy couldnt pull it off in a day as long as youve turned a wrench before. you have a new truck, so rusted bolts arent an issue. otherwise i would say spray the bolts down with pb blast the day before. a good air compressor/impact gun would really speed the process up.

I think you guys just talked my into going for the 3" BL versus the 1.5" BL, lol. Besides having to add to the steering rod and adding breakline extensions, are there any other major differences?

I've owned three trucks with 3 inch Performance Accessories body lifts and I've never had an issue. Most of the negative comments on body lifts come from people who have seen jerry-rigged body lifts made out of pipe, wood or hockey pucks. PA does a lot of R&D and makes quality products.

I'm looking at the PA 3" kits and not seeing brake line extensions. I thought you needed these for a 3" lift. Is that not true on 4th Gen Rams?

i dont think you need them. i didnt need them on my 3rd gen and i cant see why the 4th gen would be any different.

I have a 3" BL. I had to switch lanes rather fast tonight to avoid an accident and my bed flew off. Luckily I noticed it right away and stopped to retrieve it. Just needs paint touch up, not much of an issue. Gonna bolt it back on tomorrow.

A wrecked truck is what actually convinced me how well body lifts are made back in the late 1990's. It was a 97-99ish F-150 that ran off the highway and struck a tree. The frame was bent so badly, it needed replacing. Only one body mount bolt was pulled loose in the collision. That's pretty solid construction!

No brake line extension needed just a bracket you bolt between the frame and the brake lines. I love mine. Ultra and I did them together and my best advice is take your time a lot of tedious steps but once your done it looks great.

Do the brackets usually come with the kits?
